Appearance
Lauda Neill has short black hair featuring long, side-swept bangs over the left side of his face, paired with dark skin and brownish-yellow eyes. He wears the Asticassia School of Technology uniform, consisting of a tailored jacket outfitted with shoulder boards. A distinctive physical habit of his involves twirling or adjusting his left bangs with his right hand whenever he feels tense. Following an in-flight injury, he is also shown wearing a bandage wrapped around his forehead.
Personality
Although Lauda presents a composed and analytical front, he possesses the underlying hot-blooded nature inherent to his lineage. His devotion to his older half-brother Guel is absolute, holding profound faith in Guel's skill and character while prioritizing his brother's honor above his own feelings. Raised as a privileged Spacian, he initially harbors prejudice toward Earthians and lower-class Spacians, though he remains refined enough to acknowledge debts of gratitude. Under extreme pressure, his calm exterior crumbles, revealing an intensely defensive and hostile side when protecting his family.
Abilities
As a third-year student in the piloting department, Lauda demonstrates superior mobile suit piloting skill, holding a solo duel odds ranking of 7th during his early school term and rising to 4th in his final term. He operates machines such as his personal custom Dilanza and later pilots the Gundam Schwarzette. While piloting the Schwarzette, he is capable of elevating its Permet Score to execute high-performance maneuvers while enduring the severe physical strain imposed by GUND technology. In addition to combat skills, he possesses administrative talent, serving as acting CEO to manage corporate affairs during a crisis.
Background
Born to Vim Jeturk and a mistress, Lauda spent his early childhood with his mother before being taken into the Jeturk household, where his half-brother Guel accepted him unconditionally. He entered the Asticassia School of Technology and served as vice-head of Jeturk House. After Guel lost his position following duel defeats, Lauda assumed the role of house head and joined the Duel Committee. When his father died during the Plant Quetta attack, Lauda took on the overwhelming responsibility of acting corporate head while still a student. Overburdened by tragedy, the critical injury of Petra, and learning the truth behind his father's death, his distress culminated in taking the Gundam Schwarzette into battle. He reconciled with Guel during combat, and three years later, he supports Petra's medical recovery while working toward personal independence.
Relationships
Lauda holds absolute devotion for his older half-brother, Guel Jeturk, revering his piloting capabilities and strength of character. He maintained an obedient stance toward his father, Vim Jeturk. Fellow Jeturk House member Petra Itta harbors romantic feelings for him, and after she sustains grave injuries in a terror incident, Lauda stays by her side, supporting her long-term medical recovery. Conversely, he holds intense resentment toward Suletta Mercury, blaming her for his brother's downfall. He also directs deep hostility toward Miorine Rembran, viewing her actions as the primary catalyst for the tragedies that befell the Jeturk family.
Trivia
The name Lauda originates from the Italian word referring to a traditional hymn of praise to God. A particularly intense emotional outburst directed at his rival during a broadcasted duel resonated strongly with the audience, quickly becoming a widely discussed topic across online fan communities.
