Appearance
The Force Impulse Gundam features a humanoid mobile suit frame equipped with a prominent V-fin antenna and dual glowing eyes in green or blue. Its Variable Phase Shift (VPS) armor displays a balanced color pattern dominated by white, blue, and red. Mounted on its back is the Force Silhouette pack, which incorporates six large wings that function as radiators alongside a central main engine block and thruster units.
Abilities
Equipped with the Force Silhouette, the unit achieves exceptional mobility in space and atmospheric flight capabilities comparable to the Freedom Gundam in Hi-MAT mode. Its primary armament consists of a high-energy beam rifle, a collapsible mobile shield, and two MA-M941 Vajra beam sabers mounted on the Silhouette pack. In specific engagements, it has also effectively utilized heavy weaponry borrowed from other packs, including the MMI-710 Excalibur anti-ship laser sword and Flash-Edge beam boomerangs.
Background
Developed by ZAFT during the post-Armistice era under the constraints of the Junius Treaty, the Impulse Gundam was designed around the interchangeable Silhouette System. The Force Silhouette became the most frequently deployed configuration due to its outstanding balance and atmospheric performance. Under the control of Shinn Asuka, the suit achieved notoriety by defeating the Freedom Gundam in a high-stakes duel where it successfully pierced the enemy with the borrowed Excalibur anti-ship sword.
Relationships
The machine was prominently operated by Shinn Asuka as his primary mobile suit and was later handed over to Lunamaria Hawke. It operated out of the battleship Minerva, relying on the vessel's Deuterion Beam Energy Transfer System for operational support. Its most significant rival in combat was the Freedom Gundam piloted by Kira Yamato.

Because of the memorable climax where it delivered a finishing blow using the Excalibur anti-ship sword despite being in its Force configuration, this specific weapon pairing is frequently featured as a special move in video games and included as a bonus weapon in Master Grade Gunpla plastic model kits.
