Overview

Beni-Enma is a Saber-class Servant originating from the mobile game Fate/Grand Order. Based on the folklore of the Tongue-Cut Sparrow, she serves as the landlady of the Enma-tei, an inn located in a hidden realm catering to divine beings and legendary spirits. As the adopted daughter and representative of King Enma, she maintains an unflinchingly fair and dutiful demeanor. Despite her small and adorable appearance, she maintains strict discipline over guests and pupils alike.

Appearance

Beni-Enma features vibrant red hair worn in long low ponytails with parted bangs, accompanied by striking red eyes. A live, moving sparrow rests atop her head. Her attire combines elements of traditional Japanese clothing, long wide sleeves, feather trimmings, an apron, and a distinctive hat. As she ascends, her outfit shifts from that of an inn proprietress toward the traditional garb of a focused swordswoman wielding a katana.

Personality

She possesses a serious, thoughtful, and proactive nature while maintaining an inward-looking demeanor. Operating with the cool impartiality of a judge, she treats all individuals with sincere respect regardless of who they are. Deeply loyal, she treasures any kindness she receives. Though strictly disciplined and intolerant of neglect or poor self-care, she remains accepting of free-spirited personalities and attentively cares for those under her charge.

Abilities

Beni-Enma exhibits class skills such as Magic Resistance, Presence Concealment, Independent Action, and the ability to manifest and manage an inn using her realm. Her quick-draw swordplay stems from her masterly knife techniques, executed with tremendous agility. Through intense effort, she mastered ventral speech to communicate without relying on her physical tongue, rendering skill-sealing curses ineffective. Her Noble Phantasm, Jyuu-Ou Hanketsu - Tsuzura no Michiyuki, traps opponents inside a cursed wicker box alongside a procession of sparrows acting as hellish judges, culminating in a decisive sword strike.

Background

In life, she was a young servant girl who escaped cruel conditions and died peacefully in a hidden house, expressing gratitude for its comfort. Recognizing her pure spirit, she was reborn as a sparrow demon. After suffering under Datsue-ba, she was rescued by King Enma and became his adopted daughter. She was eventually entrusted with running the Enma-tei inn for divine entities. Later befriended by a kind old man in the mortal realm, she shaped her identity as the Tongue-Cut Sparrow. Having gained her heroic attributes entirely after death, she manifests to fulfill the wishes of children.

Relationships

King Enma is her adoptive father, who saved her from Datsue-ba's harsh labor and granted her his authority, clothing, and sword. Ono no Takamura is her senior colleague in the underworld. She harbors profound gratitude toward the honest old man from her legend, operating her inn in part to honor his kindness. Japanese Servants such as Tamamo-no-Mae, Kiyohime, and Tomoe Gozen attend her culinary courses, respecting and dreading her as their strict instructor.

Trivia

The sparrow perched on her head is a living entity rather than a simple accessory. Her passion for cooking is famously intense, requiring her students to endure rigorous wilderness survival illusions before she imparts basic culinary techniques. Despite having lost her own sense of taste, her cooking skills remain top-tier.
