Overview
Kingu is a central figure appearing in the Babylonia Singularity of Fate/Grand Order. Created by the Mage King, who implanted a Holy Grail into the deceased body of Enkidu, he serves as a self-proclaimed son of Tiamat. Although he inhabits Enkidu's clay vessel, he possesses an entirely distinct soul. Functioning as the leader of the demonic beasts, he works toward the complete eradication of old humanity to establish a new order.
Appearance
Kingu possesses a physical vessel crafted from divine clay, featuring an androgynous build and very long green hair with strands falling between his eyes. He wears a long-sleeved white robe. His primary visual distinction from Enkidu is his striking purple eyes. Additionally, his facial expressions are notably more moody and emotional than Enkidu's.
Personality
Kingu regards himself as a superior lifeform designed to supplant old humanity, displaying an arrogant and cruel disposition. He experiences dramatic emotional shifts and finds pleasure in combat and subjugating opponents. He considers devotion to Tiamat, whom he addresses as Mother, to be his sole reason for living. However, lingering physical memories cause him to subconsciously avoid harming children and hesitate before certain conflicts.
Abilities
Powered by the Holy Grail housed within his chest, Kingu exhibits immense magical output, allowing him to fly at speeds reaching 500 kilometers per hour through the mana-dense air of the Age of Gods. While his capabilities match Enkidu's, his primary Noble Phantasm is Nammu Duranki, where he transforms into a golden spear that inflicts defense reduction and stuns Divine enemies. He is also capable of unleashing Enuma Elish to serve as the ultimate chain binding divine entities.
Background
In the Babylonia Singularity, Kingu initially poses as Enkidu to mislead the protagonist's group before being exposed by Merlin and Ana. He works behind the scenes of the Alliance of Three Goddesses to revive Tiamat, but upon her awakening, the newly created Lahmu betray him as an obsolete prototype and tear out his Grail heart. Saved by a transformed Uruk citizen, he is confronted by King Gilgamesh, who gifts him the Great Grail of Uruk. Choosing his own path, Kingu transforms into the Chains of Heaven during the final confrontation, binding Tiamat to buy vital time for humanity.
Relationships
Kingu offers absolute devotion to Tiamat as his Mother, viewing her as his primary purpose. King Gilgamesh refers to Kingu as a Child of Heaven and bestows upon him Uruk's Grail. He shares a subtle familial affection with Gorgon during their temporary alliance. Though betrayed by the swarm of Lahmu, he is profoundly affected by a single Lahmu who aids him, while maintaining a complex distance from the memory of Enkidu.
Trivia
While named after the deity Kingu from Mesopotamian mythology by the Mage King, Kingu himself holds the mythical god in low regard as a failure. In Fate/Grand Order gameplay, he was originally categorized with a male attribute, but this was later updated to genderless to reflect the nature of his clay body. In English media, he is consistently referred to with masculine pronouns.
