Overview

Child Gilgamesh is an Archer-class Servant within the Fate series, representing the King of Heroes after taking a potion of youth to return to his childhood form. Distinct from his adult counterpart's tyrannical and overbearing nature, he conducts himself as a polite and humble youth. Originally appearing in Fate/hollow ataraxia, he is featured across numerous spinoffs and adaptations, including Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya and Fate/Grand Order.

Appearance

He has short blonde hair, crimson eyes, and a small build. His standard outfit consists of a red long-sleeved hooded jacket worn with the hood down, a white shirt underneath, black pants, and decorative jewelry accessories.

Personality

Child Gilgamesh is polite, soft-spoken, and approachable, adopting a caring attitude toward others rather than seeking to dominate them. Despite his gentle outer demeanor, he retains an unyielding inner streak of cold detachment. He strongly despises his adult self, viewing his future arrogance with disgust, and actively avoids encountering his older counterpart to prevent mutual hostility.

Abilities

Though his physical parameters and magical energy are reduced compared to his prime, he fights without arrogance or carelessness. He wields Gate of Babylon to launch various treasures and utilizes the Chains of Heaven to restrict targets. Through Sha Naqba Imuru, he possesses the sight to discern underlying truths. His inherent skills include high Charisma, Golden Rule, and Rosy-cheeked Youth.

Background

In Fate/hollow ataraxia, the adult Gilgamesh consumed a potion of youth to escape a tedious situation upon realizing the nature of the repeating four-day loop. In this younger form, he lived quietly in Fuyuki City while dealing with his proxy master, Caren Hortensia. This form reflects his early years as a benevolent young ruler of ancient Uruk before his later turn toward tyranny.

Relationships

He shares a weary camaraderie with Lancer under the demanding proxy master Caren Hortensia. He exhibits a soft spot for Yukika Saegusa and gets along well with the local children in Fuyuki. He holds absolute respect for Enkidu, displaying rare fury when Enkidu's named treasure is misused by others. He views Shirou Emiya's magecraft with cold detachment, labeling him a faker.

Trivia

Using his endless wealth, he operates the Waku Waku Zabuum water park in Fate/hollow ataraxia. It is established that he spent most of his ten-year concealment period between the Fourth and Fifth Holy Grail Wars in this youthful state. In Fate/Grand Order, his vault is revealed to contain ancient prototypes of various unusual swimsuits.
