Overview
Osakabehime is an Assassin-class Servant featured in Fate/Grand Order. Originally a land god and legendary youkai residing in the keep of Himeji Castle, she presents herself as a refined princess while actually being a deeply introverted, self-deprecating shut-in and otaku. She dreads leaving her room and spends her time indulging in online shopping, browser games, and collecting figure hobbies.
Appearance
Osakabehime features purple eyes and very long hair styled in low twintails, transitioning from black to brown tips. She wears red-framed glasses, which she occasionally removes when putting on a princess persona. Her signature attire includes a kimono-themed hooded cloak over a purple skirt. Due to her sedentary lifestyle, she describes her own physique as somewhat plump. She also possesses a swimsuit variant wearing a bikini.
Personality
She puts up a genteel "princess" facade, but her actual personality is gloomy, highly lazy, and easily overwhelmed by interaction due to poor social skills. While cynical and self-preservational, her petty nature rarely goes beyond minor mischief like unauthorized credit card shopping. Despite her intense reluctance to abandon her peaceful isolation, she can be surprisingly warm and affectionate toward fellow enthusiasts or those she warms up to.
Abilities
Osakabehime avoids physical combat, relying instead on commanding swarms of bats and using her Chiyogami Manipulation to attack via animated origami creatures such as cranes, foxes, and horses. Her skills include Shapeshifting and Four Gods Earthly Form, which temporarily alters the surrounding terrain to boost stats. Her Noble Phantasm, Hakurojyou no Hyakkihachitendousama, summons a miniature Himeji Castle to provide defensive and performance buffs to her allies.
Background
Originally a three-hundred-year-old fox youkai living isolated in Himeji Castle, she enjoyed centuries of quiet life by dealing with the castle masters only once every few years. As centuries passed and the era of castle lords ended, her fear of being forgotten led to her fade away, ultimately leading to her summoning as a Servant who fully embraced modern online culture. She adopted a bat motif to distinguish herself from other fox Servants.
Relationships
She maintains a close messaging friendship with Tamamo no Mae and Kiyohime, sharing a doujin circle with the latter. Beni-enma acts as her culinary teacher and penpal. She harbors an intense wariness toward Miyamoto Musashi due to past encounters. During an event at Himeji Castle, she formed a genuine bond with Elisabeth Báthory, making her Osakabehime's first real-life friend. She also shares a close camaraderie with Edward Teach over their mutual otaku hobbies.
Trivia
In traditional Japanese folklore, Osakabehime is associated with the guardian spirit of Himeji Castle and Osakabe-dono. Her dialogue features extensive modern otaku internet slang. Depictions of her room show it crowded with gaming equipment, rows of collectible figures, hobby magazines, and character tapestries.
