Overview
An Assassin-class Servant in Fate/Grand Order. She is a legendary onmyouji and military strategist of late-Heian Kyoto, as well as the Great Tengu of Mount Kurama, Kuramayama Sojobo. Renowned as the martial arts and tactical mentor of Minamoto no Yoshitsune (Ushiwakamaru), she is a transcendent entity capable of freely shifting her physical form and gender, though she manifests primarily in a female form as a Servant.
Appearance
She features long white hair, yellow eyes, and pointed ears. Wings extend from her back for flight, and she wears red armor accented with black and white feather ornaments, bare shoulders, and black gloves. She carries a large feather fan and a naginata. Although capable of altering her physique and gender at will, she primarily adopts this female form as a Servant. During the activation of her Noble Phantasm, she puts on a traditional tengu mask.
Personality
She refers to herself using "boku" and occasionally "washi." Possessing a hearty and broad-minded personality, she cheerfully laughs off minor troubles while acting as a supportive and caring mentor. Although she displays genuine warmth and cooperativeness, her long isolation from human society leaves her fundamental values somewhat detached from mortal norms. This results in occasional out-of-touch, oblivious moments, and when caught off guard after acting overly composed, she flusteredly attempts to save face.
Abilities
Beyond the Assassin class, she holds qualifications for Caster, Saber, and Lancer, and can disguise her class alignment to counter opponents. Owing to her Great Tengu origin and onmyouji lineage, she possesses EX-rank Magic Resistance, EX Mana, and high Agility. In combat, she flies on wings for mid-range naginata strikes, transforms into or commands flocks of crows, and crushes enemies under giant boulders. Her Noble Phantasm, Rikutou Sanryaku - Maouson Dai-usen, involves donning a tengu mask, creating four midair clones, and whipping up a catastrophic storm of wind, rain, thunder, and hellfire using feather fans. She also retains mastery over the Kyo-hachi-ryu sword style and the secret tactical manuals Rikutou and Sanryaku.
Background
Revered in Heian-period Kyoto as a master of strategy and Onmyoudo, as well as the Great Tengu of Mount Kurama, she took in young Minamoto no Yoshitsune (Ushiwakamaru) through a connection with Tokiwa Gozen. She instructed her in martial arts and tactics, though Yoshitsune secretly read and took her guarded treatises Rikutou and Sanryaku. Regretting that she could not free her pupil from a tragic fate in life, she acts as a dependable, caring mentor to both her former student and the Master upon being summoned.
Relationships
She fondly addresses her disciple Minamoto no Yoshitsune (Ushiwakamaru) as "Shana-ou" or "foolish disciple," showing deep affection and striving to guide her properly this time. She takes a great liking to the Master, Fujimaru Ritsuka, pampering them like a cherished pupil or family member. She instantly bonds with Scáthach over their shared histories as long-lived martial teachers whose pupils met tragic ends, mutually acknowledging each other as the Eastern and Western Masters. She is also acquainted with contemporary Onmyouji Ashiya Douman and Abe no Seimei, expressing great amusement at Douman's altered personality.
Trivia
Reflecting her shape-shifting abilities, game mechanics classify her under a special gender-neutral category for most skill interactions. Additionally, she shows a touch of competitive irritation whenever anyone compares her prowess to that of Tarobou Tengu of Mount Atago.
