Overview
Super Orion is an Archer-class Servant in Fate/Grand Order, representing the true human form of the legendary hunter from Greek mythology. Previously summoned in a diminished state as a teddy bear due to Artemis's intervention, he appears in his proper, immensely muscular body when summoned under normal circumstances. Claiming the title of Greece's greatest hunter, he combines staggering physical strength with extraordinary combat prowess.
Appearance
He is a towering, massively muscular man with brown hair and brown eyes, featuring a surprisingly friendly, somewhat boyish facial expression. He appears topless, showcasing defined biceps, thick arms, and abdominal muscles. He wears a cape, brown pants, and a belt accented with three glowing points of light representing his namesake constellation. In battle, he wields a crystal-like club and a giant bow.
Personality
Despite his intimidating size and formidable combat skills, Orion is remarkably easygoing, lighthearted, and flirtatious. A hopeless playboy, he frequently attempts to pick up women, only to suffer severe physical retaliation from a jealous Artemis or the targets of his advances. Underneath his frivolous exterior, however, he possesses a sharp mind capable of cold, tactical judgment during critical moments.
Abilities
Orion commands absolute mastery over both archery and close-quarters brawl tactics using his fists and club. As a descendant of Poseidon, he possesses the ability to walk on water, remain underwater indefinitely, and summon rainfall. His physical powers allow him to overpower magical beasts with ease. His Noble Phantasm, Artemis Agnos, channels Artemis's overpowering affection to grant him immense stat boosts, while Orion Orkos unleashes an arrow strike that bypasses all defense skills against beastly foes.
Background
Born to Poseidon and Euryale, Orion was celebrated as the ultimate hunter in Greek lore. After losing his eyesight in a dispute over a woman, he regained his vision through the aid of the dawn goddess Eos. He later fell in love with Artemis, but her twin brother Apollo tricked the sun-god's sister into shooting Orion while he was wading in the ocean. Grieving his tragic death, Artemis placed his form in the night sky as the constellation Orion.
Relationships
He shares a turbulent, deeply possessive romance with the moon goddess Artemis. Having died due to Apollo's deception, he harbors a strong wariness toward the sun god, warning Paris about divine whims. He is connected to his father Poseidon, half-brother Triton, and uncle Asterios. With Chaldea's Master, Fujimaru Ritsuka, he enjoys a relaxed, friendly rapport, though his flirtatious attempts toward female Servants like Astraea and Martha often end in swift violent retaliation.
Trivia
Despite his classification as an Archer, original Greek mythology contains surprisingly few tales of Orion fighting with a bow, leaning instead toward close-range brawling feats. During early development for Fate/Grand Order, he was originally planned as a 1-star Berserker; however, the creators fell in love with his finalized visual design and revised his lore to introduce him as a premier 5-star Archer.
