Overview

An Alter Ego-class Servant debuting in Fate/Grand Order. Originally an innocent, rustic figure, Paul Bunyan transformed and expanded by absorbing the spirit origins of various Heroic and Phantom Spirits, along with modern American influences. Styling herself as a great "President," she leads her followers—whom she calls her cheerful companions or "Employées"—in the manner of a trendy, modern influencer creating a new myth.

Appearance

She features short blonde hair and yellow eyes. Her physical appearance shifts depending on her ascension stage: in her first two forms, she takes on an older, taller figure, whereas her third ascension reverts her to a small child-like stature. A small talking crocodile named Mike Fink is wrapped around her neck like a scarf. Underneath her hat, she conceals rabbit ears, and leaving the hat off eventually causes deer-like antlers to sprout, giving her jackalope traits. In battle, she wields a lacrosse racket, hatchets, and a chainsaw, or drives a convertible version of her blue ox, Babe.

Personality

Super Bunyan adopts the persona of a modern, stylish leader who assigns roles to her companions to build their shared vision. While she appears confident and frequently bosses her crew around while seeking absolute validation and "likes" from supporters, she secretly harbours a deep anxiety that people will abandon her. Beneath her pushy presidential facade, she retains child-like traits, such as her affection for pancakes and a petty rivalry with those she sees as equals.

Abilities

Her skill set includes "Power of Likes," which converts supporter enthusiasm into combat strength, "Presidential Decree" to boost party offense, and "Vision Quest," which uses decorative glasses to gain insight. She also uses her love of maple syrup in battle. Her Anti-Army Noble Phantasm, "Americas' Sweetheart of Darkness," gathers the votes and support of her followers to temporarily enlarge her body, allowing her to crush enemies with massive force.

Background

Born from the tall tales of the American frontier, Paul Bunyan absorbed the spirit components of other Servants—including a movie producer Rider, a silent Assassin, and the phantom Mike Fink—resulting in this altered state. Driven to create a modern "myth" through filmmaking, she sets out as a self-appointed commander, drawing the Master of Chaldea into her chaotic production efforts while attempting to move past her simple lumberjack origins.

Relationships

Mike Fink serves as her foul-mouthed companion and neckpiece, granting her the power to take on an adult form. She works alongside a Rider who acts as her film producer and a silent Assassin who performs relentless logistical work as part of her inner circle. She treats Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash Kyrielight as her recruits, subjecting them to her arbitrary leadership. She tries to act like an older sister toward her original self, Paul Bunyan, and views Mary Anning as a sharp rival.

Trivia

The costume she wears in her third ascension originates from an outfit seen in the spin-off manga Learning with Manga! Fate/Grand Order. Additionally, the glasses she wears are purely decorative, and due to the influence of the Rider fused within her spirit origin, she inexplicably feels intense resentment whenever she sees Thomas Edison.
