Overview

Melusine is a Lancer-class Servant appearing in the mobile game Fate/Grand Order, specifically in the story arc Lostbelt No. 6: Faerie Knight Realm, Avalon le Fae. Originally presented under the title Fairy Knight Lancelot by Morgan le Fay, she is a unique dragon faerie native to British Lostbelt history. Widely regarded as the most beautiful, proud, and powerful warrior in the faerie realm, she operates as an exceptionally lethal yet elegant combatant whose true nature sets her apart from all other faeries.

Appearance

Melusine is a female character of very petite stature, standing 147 centimeters tall and weighing only 20 kilograms. She features long white hair with sidelocks, yellow eyes, and distinctive forked eyebrows. Her attire varies significantly across re-ascensions, featuring long sleeves paired with bare shoulders, a white dress, swimsuits, and specialized combat armor including a facial mask or visor. In her altered third form, she manifests black dragon-like wings and wields twin energy blades extending from her forearm sheaths.

Personality

Melusine portrays herself as a cold and ruthless warrior, yet she possesses a deeply devoted heart when it comes to love. She addresses herself using masculine personal pronouns and maintains an aloof, refined demeanor. Despite her supreme combat pride, she shows surprisingly naive quirks, such as viewing Experience Embers as food and expressing a strange desire to eat the Holy Grail. She also holds a deep affinity for modern military aircraft and mechanical concepts. Although formidable, she feels deeply hurt by the open hostility she receives from her fellow knight Barghest.

Abilities

Melusine fights at super-sonic speeds, utilizing specialized martial skills and her arm-mounted Arondight blades to deliver strikes enhanced with cyan light. Her combat repertoire includes the skill Dragon Heart for internal energy overloads, Eternal Arms Mastership to maintain peak martial talent, as well as Ray Horizon and Dragon's Dance. In combat, she starts with the single-target Arts Noble Phantasm Innocence Arondight, but using her skill Ray Horizon allows her to transform into her third form mid-battle, shifting her Noble Phantasm into a high-output, area-of-effect Buster attack with Invincible Penetration.

Background

Melusine originates as the sole dragon faerie of the British Lostbelt. Granted the Spirit Origin name of the Pan-Human History hero Lancelot by Morgan le Fay, she served as the elite vanguard of the Faerie Knights. Bound by the laws of the faerie realm, her strength eclipses all ordinary beings, earning her the reputation of the single strongest living organism in Lostbelt Britain. Following her summoning to Chaldea, she pledges her exceptional martial prowess to the Master, Ritsuka Fujimaru.

Relationships

She serves under Morgan le Fay as her supreme Faerie Knight and works alongside her peers, Faerie Knight Tristan and Faerie Knight Gawain. Her title is derived from the Pan-Human History hero Lancelot. Toward her Master, Ritsuka Fujimaru, she forms an intensely strong, romantic attachment, remaining completely dedicated to their safety and partnership.

Trivia

With an official weight of only 20 kilograms, Melusine is categorized as one of the lightest humanoid characters in the entire franchise. Due to her dual Noble Phantasms, battle animations, and mid-fight transformation mechanics, her in-game technical production cost was revealed to be five times higher than that of a standard Servant.
