Solomon

Solomon is a character in the Fate series, primarily appearing in Fate/Grand Order. Known historically as the third king of ancient Israel and the legendary King of Magic, he originally occupies the Caster and Grand Caster classes. In the narrative of Fate/Grand Order, his form and Spirit Origin are also assumed by a Pretender-class Servant, known as Pseudepigrapha Solomon. This individual is actually a remnant of the Demon God Pillar Flauros, one of the seventy-two pillars that once formed Goetia. Borrowing Solomon's framework and the identity of Romani Archaman, he acts as both a guide and a final test for Chaldea during their journey.

Overview

Appearance

Solomon is depicted as a dark-skinned man with long white hair tied into a single braid, featuring hair falling between his yellow eyes, black nails, and ornate jewelry. In his standard Caster form, he wears ten rings across all of his fingers on both hands. In contrast, his Pretender-class manifestation, known as Pseudepigrapha Solomon, is visually distinguished by possessing only a single ring worn on his right hand.

Personality

While the historical King Solomon was a serene and wise monarch, the Pretender-class remnant exhibits a pragmatically cold yet distinctly human demeanor. He normally refers to himself with formal pronouns but shifts to informal self-address when expressing personal opinions. Toward Ritsuka Fujimaru, he communicates in an unreserved, candid tone, offering guidance while maintaining a strict boundary with the rest of Chaldea. Despite his solemn atmosphere, he shows an unexpectedly humorous side, such as enthusiastically recommending fried chicken during birthday greetings. His actions are driven by a complex mixture of resentment, respect, and responsibility inherited from his memories of Romani Archaman.

Abilities

Solomon utilizes multi-elemental magecraft, spawning flame pillars, water vortexes, grey whirlwinds, lightning, ground fissures, freezing ice, and red-black magical energy. During combat, he unfolds sigils corresponding to the nine Demon Gods of the Information Room and calls their names. His Extra Attack briefly adopts Goetia's form to deliver punches, rays of destruction, or magic salvos from eyes on his arms. His current power is reduced to one-seventy-second of its original scale. He possesses skills including Territory Creation (D), High-Speed Incantation (EX), Clairvoyance (D), Independent Manifestation (E), Imaginary Number Bag (A), Ring of Solomon (E), and Ashes of Human King (EX). His Noble Phantasms are Ars Almadel Salomonis, Ars Paulina, and Ars Nova.

Background

Reigning over ancient Israel from 1011 to 931 BC, Solomon chose divine wisdom over wealth or power when tested in a dream, receiving ten rings from God as proof of his intellect and becoming revered as the King of Magic. In the Fate universe, he won the 2004 Fuyuki Holy Grail War alongside Marisbury Animusphere and wished to become a normal human named Romani Archaman. His abandoned body was hijacked by Goetia to initiate the Incineration of Humanity. After the real Solomon erased his own existence at the Time Temple to stop Goetia, the Demon God Pillar Flauros refused to fade away due to his complex bond with Romani. Retaining Solomon's Spirit Origin, Flauros manifested as Pseudepigrapha Solomon to aid Chaldea.

Relationships

Solomon maintains a deeply intertwined relationship with Romani Archaman, his former Master and friend, whose legacy and physical appearance he adopts out of distorted respect. He forms a Servant contract with Ritsuka Fujimaru, engaging with them on equal, candid terms. He shares a long history with Mash Kyrielight from his time as Lev Lainur, earning her unspoken gratitude despite his past deception. Additionally, he is connected to King David, his biological father, and Olga Marie Animusphere, his former superior during his covert operation at Chaldea.

Trivia

Solomon was designed by Takashi Takeuchi, with voice performances by Tomokazu Sugita and Kenichi Suzumura. As a playable Pretender Servant, Pseudepigrapha Solomon is provided as a welfare Servant during the narrative climax of Part 2. Due to story reasons, he is uniquely excluded from receiving or giving Valentine's Day event items. Additionally, he possesses a unique class skill that allows him to exceptionally benefit from the Craft Essence titled Person of Chaldea.
