Overview

The Queen of Sheba is a Caster-class Servant introduced under the title Caster of Midrash in the Epic of Remnant sub-story "Salem of the Heresy" in Fate/Grand Order. True to her identity as the legendary ruler of the ancient kingdom of Sheba situated across East Africa and the southwestern Arabian Peninsula, she combines exceptional intellect with a shrewd business acumen. Characterized by her radiant beauty and deep devotion to wealth, she manages all her interactions through strict, uncompromising contractual fairness.

Appearance

The Queen of Sheba is a dark-skinned woman with a voluptuous figure, long purple hair, and aqua or blue eyes. She possesses pointed animal ears and a sleek, fluffy tail, though her animal ears disappear while she assumes the guise of Tituba in Salem. Her exotic outfit is accessorized with a hood featuring ear slits, a forehead jewel, a head chain, eyeliner, gauntlets, and various items of jewelry.

Personality

Despite speaking in a polite and lighthearted tone, the Queen of Sheba is a pragmatic miser who prioritizes monetary gain above all else. She firmly believes that every piece of assistance requires proper compensation, strictly enforcing equal exchange and contractual obligations. She despises financial waste and unnecessary expenses, taking pleasure in camel breeding while constantly searching for business opportunities. Beneath her comical obsession with money lies a highly calculated mindset and keen foresight.

Abilities

Her Class Skills are Territory Creation C, which allows her to form an advantageous domain, and Magic Resistance A, which completely cancels magic of A-rank or lower. Her active skill Charisma B- increases team attack power, while Eye of the Spirit A provides precise appraisal, detects enemy movement, grants invincibility bypass, and boosts critical damage. Wisdom of the Demon God A enhances the Arts and Buster performance of her allies while generating critical stars. Her Noble Phantasm, Three Enigmas, summons three djinn named Ehad, Shtayim, and Shalosh to launch an aggressive sequence of physical attacks on a single target, reducing their defense, attack, and HP recovery rate.

Background

According to biblical traditions, the Queen of Sheba traveled to Jerusalem to test King Solomon's legendary wisdom with difficult riddles and rewarded his knowledge with gifts. Legend also describes her as a half-human, half-djinn entity born from a human father and a spirit mother. In Fate/Grand Order, she is automatically summoned as a countermeasure against the Demon God Pillar Raum. Affected by the barrier in Salem, she temporarily loses her memories and functions as the enslaved maid Tituba. After recovering her identity following her execution in the script, she joins forces with Chaldea to defeat the Demon God Pillar.

Relationships

She holds deep affection and respect for King Solomon, who solved all her riddles in life, swearing to fight until all golden sand slipping from his hands returns to him. During her time in Salem, she cared for Abigail Williams, who regarded her like family. She also exchanged vital intelligence with Mata Hari. Following her arrival at Chaldea, she occasionally adopts the alias Dollar-Cent Pound to work as a secretary for Gilgamesh during seasonal events.

Trivia

The title "Midrash" derives from a Hebrew word meaning to search out or investigate. Regional folklore paints varying pictures of her physical features, with some legends describing her as having hairy legs, donkey hooves, or webbed goose feet. Character designer Katou Itsuwa clarified that her animal ears and horns were added purely out of personal creative preference.
