Overview
Pollux is a character in the Fate series, debuting as a Saber-class Servant in Fate/Grand Order. Manifesting alongside her twin brother Castor as part of the dual Heroic Spirit Dioscuri, she originates from Greek mythology and represents one half of the Gemini constellation.
Appearance
Pollux is a female figure with blonde hair and blue eyes. She wears an outfit predominantly colored in white and gold featuring bare shoulders, a top that exposes her midriff, armlets, and bracers. She wears sandals on her feet and wields a golden sword in battle.
Personality
Pollux is calm, polite, and deeply devoted to her twin brother Castor. Unlike her brother, who harbors intense hatred toward humanity for losing his divine status, Pollux maintains an earnest and respectful demeanor, regarding humans as beings to be protected. She frequently acts as a stabilizing influence when Castor becomes hostile, while remaining warm and cooperative toward the Master.
Abilities
Possesses high-rank Magic Resistance, Riding, and Mad Enhancement skills. Her personal skills include Core of the Twin Gods, Star of the Chief God, Guardian of Navigation, and Mana Burst (Light/Ancient), which boosts her combat power through light-based mana emissions. In combat, she wields the golden sword Beta Pollux in hyper-fast coordination with Castor's circular shield. Her Noble Phantasm, Dioscures Tyndaridae, temporarily restores their full divinity to launch a combined strike that bypasses physical and magical defenses.
Background
Pollux originated as part of an ancient pair of twin deities worshipped in Greece as patrons of seafarers and warriors. Over time, the pair was absorbed into the Olympian pantheon under Zeus. In later traditions, Castor was assigned mortal origins while Pollux retained her immortal demigod status. She joined the voyage of the Argo alongside Jason and other heroes. To honor their unbreakable bond, Zeus raised the twin stars to the heavens as the Gemini constellation.
Relationships
She shares an unbreakable bond with her twin brother Castor, remaining inseparable at all times. The chief god Zeus is her divine father, who integrated the twins into his pantheon and later immortalized them as stars. In the Atlantis and Olympus Lostbelts, she served under Kirschtaria Wodime. She also maintains connections to Jason, the captain of the Argo, as well as her half-brother Heracles and Castor's mentor Chiron.
Trivia
The name Dioscuri signifies 'children of Zeus,' while Tyndaridae refers to 'children of Tyndareus.' The glowing electric discharge known as Saint Elmo's fire on ship masts during storms was historically believed to be the twins manifesting to guide seafarers. Though summoned under the Saber class, her traits and abilities also qualify her for the Rider and Berserker classes.
