Typhon Ephemeros
Typhon Ephemeros is a Pretender-class Servant appearing in Fate/Grand Order and related media. Formed from the union of the Greek mythological progenitor dragon Typhon and the Ephemeral Fruit that stripped away his power, she is fundamentally an anti-wish device operating as a fake brain entity. Overview
While she originally functions as an anti-Grail mechanism preventing desires from coming true, she also appears in a secondary white-clad form designated as Typhon Epsilon, who acts as a distinct yet intimately connected successor node.
Appearance
In her human-shaped avatar, she takes the form of a young girl with long red hair styled in a braid, partially covering one eye. She features heterochromatic yellow and blue eyes, and her body is enveloped in a black dress-like coating formed by attached Chaos Tide. Her attire includes long sleeves and hair ribbons. The secondary entity, Epsilon, presents a mirrored color scheme with her heterochromia inverted (blue right eye and gold left eye). Her true sealed physical form is a mechanical three-headed dragon equipped with rocket-shaped forearms.
Personality
Because her nature is tied to negating wishes, her demeanor can be haughty and dismissive of the desires of others. In contrast, her duplicate unit Epsilon exhibits a bright, cheerful, and lighthearted personality, calling herself an affectionate younger sister type. Although the two initially clash over their contrasting priorities regarding repair logistics and daily preferences, they eventually develop a close, protective sisterly bond.
Abilities
As a top-tier fantasy species, her atmospheric presence alone inflicts heavy damage, and her physical attacks rival Noble Phantasms. Having assimilated Zeus's thunderbolt, her breath attacks warp spatial boundaries. Through her Chaos Tide, she summons Greek monsters and shadow knights, nullifies physical attacks, and physically interferes with spiritual processes. She also possesses a 3D-printing capability to construct functional duplicate units like Typhon Epsilon. Her Noble Phantasms include Nega Keraunos and Typhon.
Background
Her origins trace back to the wreckage of a Titan-series flagship that fell to Earth during ancient cosmic battles, later absorbed into Greek mythology as the progenitor dragon Typhon. After defeating Zeus, Typhon consumed the Ephemeral Fruit believing it would fulfill any dream; instead, it robbed the dragon of power, leading to defeat and imprisonment under Mount Etna. Typhon Ephemeros emerged from the fusion of this fruit's concept and the dragon's remains, eventually producing Typhon Epsilon to act as an uncorrupted surrogate.
Relationships
Typhon Ephemeros shares a deeply interwoven bond with her secondary node, Typhon Epsilon, who views Ephemeros as an older sister; the two ultimately share a spiritual foundation to maintain their existence. They maintain a contract with the Master, Fujimaru Ritsuka. Additionally, her history is inextricably tied to the Olympian chief god Zeus, whose power Typhon once usurped before being defeated.
Trivia
The designation Epsilon originates from the Greek letter 'ε', representing the initial letter of Ephemeros. The mythic dragon Typhon serves as the etymological root for the word 'typhoon' and is traditionally regarded as the progenitor of numerous mythological beasts.
