Overview
Izcalli is a non-playable antagonist introduced in Fate/Grand Order's Lostbelt No. 7, Nahui Mictlan. Serving the god Tezcatlipoca, he reigns as the King of the Ocelotl from his stronghold in Mexico City on the fifth layer of the South American Lostbelt. Donning a black panther mask and suit, he stands as a formidable adversary to Chaldea, driven by a deep hostility toward Pan-Human History.
Appearance
Izcalli is a dark-skinned man with short black hair and red eyes. He wears a black panther-themed mask, a black bodysuit accented with gold trim, and black gloves. A prominent, unhealable scar sits on the upper left side of his forehead, causing him constant pain. In combat, he wields a pair of custom assault rifles designed to be held together.
Personality
Izcalli combines savage ferocity with military rationality, acting as a cold, ruthless commander toward his enemies. He holds a bitter hatred for Pan-Human History, disgusted by human hypocrisy. Beneath his brutal demeanor, however, lies a desire to build a peaceful nation without conflict. Despite being unable to speak the Ocelotl language, he recognizes their diligence, feeling a strong sense of duty to guide and witness his subjects to the very end.
Abilities
Izcalli is an exceptionally agile combatant who fights using a close-quarters gun-kata style, executing point-blank bursts and flying kicks imbued with red-and-black electricity. He commands the Ocelotl in coordinated group tactics, matching high-tier Servants in strength. He possesses rapid regeneration skills—capable of returning after turning to dust—and enjoys temporary immortality for one year due to a specific organ implanted within his body.
Background
Izcalli is a homunculus created by Tezcatlipoca using the soil of Mictlan, corn, and the soul of the Pan-Human History Aztec emperor, Moctezuma II. In his past life, Moctezuma II sought to save his people by welcoming foreign invaders, only to be betrayed and stoned to death by his own subjects—a fatal head trauma manifested as Izcalli's permanent scar. Though created as a short-lived, resolute sacrifice to revive ORT, Izcalli ultimately grew to care for the Ocelotl, rebelling against Tezcatlipoca's plan of complete destruction and meeting his end by the god's gun.
Relationships
He faithfully serves Tezcatlipoca as his deity and creator, striving to facilitate the god's complete manifestation. He shares a deep, mutual bond of trust with Tlaloc, the personification of the capital, speaking openly with her before crucial rituals. He is also revered by Quauhtemoc, an Ocelotl to whom he gave a name. During his encounters with Chaldea, he shows intense hostility toward Gordolf Musik, immediately distrusting him due to his foreign, blonde appearance.
Trivia
The name 'Izcalli' originates from Nahuatl, meaning 'resurrection' or 'rebirth.' Designed by Showichi Furumi, his mask and costume visually mirror historical depictions of Moctezuma II. His immediate refusal to negotiate with Gordolf Musik during the attack on the Storm Border stems from his soul's lingering trauma of being betrayed by Hernán Cortés and the blonde Spanish conquistadors in Pan-Human History.
