Overview

Siduri is a character in the Fate series, including Fate/Grand Order. As the Chief Priestess of the ancient Mesopotamian city of Uruk, she stands at the head of one of the city's three administrative branches. Serving under King Gilgamesh, she acts as a wise, competent advisor to the sovereign while also looking after the protagonist's party during their stay in Uruk.

Appearance

Siduri has long brown hair and brown eyes. Her attire consists of Arabian-style clothing paired with a white veil and hood, accented by accessories such as hoop earrings. In a certain seasonal event, she also appears wearing modern-style clothing and eyeglasses.

Personality

Gentle, intelligent, and refined, Siduri is a polite and caring woman who warmly supports those around her. Underneath her calm exterior lies a steadfast courage; she does not hesitate to offer blunt advice to King Gilgamesh or stand her ground before the temperamental goddess Ishtar. She holds deep affection for Uruk and its people, willingly putting herself at the forefront of relief efforts when the city faces crisis.

Abilities

Siduri possesses high administrative and organizational skills, managing civic duties and religious affairs as the Chief Priestess of Uruk. While primarily serving in a administrative capacity rather than a combat role, her exceptional intellect enables her to keep the city's governance running smoothly.

Background

In the past, Siduri risked her life to scold Gilgamesh for abandoning his duties as king following the death of Enkidu. After Gilgamesh returned to rebuild Uruk as a wise ruler, she faithfully supported his reign alongside the populace. She also maintained deep gratitude toward Enkidu for protecting the city. During the Battle in New York 2019 event, she briefly returned as a shopkeeper alongside Dumuzid, displaying a playful side.

Relationships

She serves as King Gilgamesh's close subordinate, making sure he stays on task and does not overwork. She treats the city goddess Ishtar with proper religious reverence while keeping her in check with bold council. Siduri held great respect for Enkidu, viewing them as a kind and beautiful green figure. Towards the protagonist and their companions, she acts as a warm and reliable caretaker.

Trivia

Her name originates from a figure in the Epic of Gilgamesh, where Siduri is a divine alewife who advises Gilgamesh on his quest for immortality. In the Fate series, she is reinterpreted as a human mortal serving as an official, though the anime adaptation briefly hints at the existence of the mythic goddess via a mural in its final episode.
