Overview
Taisui Xingjun is a 4-star Alter Ego-class Servant introduced in Fate/Grand Order during the Sea Monster Crisis event. Based on the Chinese deification of the hypothetical planet mirroring Jupiter, he is a feared god of misfortune historically identified with the subterranean flesh entity known as Shirou. Summoned by Morgan using the collective spirits of the small creatures known as Cons as a catalyst, he normally manifests in the form of a young boy carrying both innocent wonder and dangerous divine authority.
Appearance
In his standard form, he takes the appearance of a small boy (129 cm, 24 kg) with black hair and green eyes. When his sinister, deity-of-calamity nature intensifies, his eyes change to a deep navy blue. He wears traditional Chinese-style clothing with long sleeves, black pants, red eyeshadow, and a red cord-like accessory wrapped around his neck as a necklace. In his final ascension, mysterious markings resembling the trigram Zhen are visible on his bare skin. In his temporary adult state (170 cm, 64 kg), he appears as a tall, cool, and handsome young man.
Personality
Inheriting the memories of the Cons, he possesses an innocent, curious, and simple-hearted personality. He enjoys sunbathing, sleeping, eating, and moving his body, while disliking being forced awake or eaten without permission. He retains a quirk of repeating words twice and refers to himself as 'Wagahai'. Though generally well-meaning, he remains a divine bringer of misfortune who casually threatens wicked curses to protect those he cares about. In his brief adult form, he turns quiet, somewhat spacey, and slightly pessimistic, feeling it best if humans simply buried him back underground.
Abilities
Possessing high Magic Resistance and Divinity, he utilizes the ominous attributes of Shirou, the flesh monster tied to Jupiter's subterranean cycle. In combat, he releases cursed energy pulses from his hands and the ground, strikes and enlarges bronze bells, throws magatama, and attacks using extra arms from his back. His Noble Phantasm, Taisui Awaken, temporarily restores his adult form to unleash a massive sphere of cursed magical energy, inflicting severe ailments and spreading lethal curses to the entire line of any who dare disturb him.
Background
Originating in ancient Chinese astronomy as a hypothetical celestial body mirroring Jupiter, Taisui developed into a feared deity ruling over directional fortune and disasters. He became closely linked to Shirou, a legendary underground flesh entity, as well as Prince Yin Jiao from Fengshen Yanyi. During the events of the Sea Monster Crisis singular point, his divine essence was stabilized into an Alter Ego Servant after consolidating the mass of Cons who had bonded with the Chaldea expedition.
Relationships
He remains deeply attached to the Trung Sisters and Fujimaru Ritsuka, willingly unleashing curses on anyone who threatens them. Due to the catalyst used in his summoning, he shares special bonds with Morgan and Lambdaryllis, treasuring a ribbon given by the latter. He gets along remarkably well with Voyager due to their shared celestial nature, often sunbathing together. Conversely, he maintains strong caution around figures linked to Daji and remains vigilant toward Ashiya Douman, who seeks to absorb his calamity-bringing powers.
Trivia
His unique greeting 'Hannama' originated from a mix-up after learning various foreign hellos from Calamity Jane and Lakshmi Bai, which Chaldea's kitchen staff hilariously misread as a complaint about undercooked meat ('half-raw'). He is one of the few welfare Servants whose Ascension stages do not visually alter his gameplay sprite, a trait explained lore-wise by his inability to maintain his adult form for long. Separate voice actors perform his child and adult incarnations.
