Overview

Ortlinde is a Servant from Fate/Grand Order and one of the divine battle maidens who comprise the collective entity Valkyrie. Created as a daughter of the supreme god in Norse mythology, she serves as the default individual manifested during the initial Ascension stage upon being summoned. Originally appearing in the Lancer class, she also takes on a summer Saint Graph focused on high mobility and covert operations. Characterized by her calm and serious demeanor, she performs her duties faithfully alongside her fellow Valkyrie sisters.

Appearance

Ortlinde is distinguished by her short black hair and striking red eyes. Her primary attire consists of a shoulder-baring white dress paired with a white hooded capelet, gloves, a bracelet, and various jewelry. She is adorned with wings and wing-like head ornaments. In her summer Saint Graph designed for covert maneuvers, her outfit features a functional hood.

Personality

Among the Valkyrie sisters, Ortlinde is notable for her disciplined, quiet, and highly earnest temperament. Initially presenting a stoic and somewhat mechanical demeanor typical of a divine construct, she gradually displays genuine emotion and subtle hesitancy through her interactions with her Master. As her individuality develops, she occasionally exhibits endearing awkwardness when processing unfamiliar feelings, sometimes attempting to conceal her flustered expression beneath her hood.

Abilities

Summoned as part of the Lancer-class Servant Valkyrie in Fate/Grand Order, Ortlinde functions as one of the physical terminals representing the collective heroic spirit. When manifesting in her summer Saint Graph, she transitions into an Assassin-class role optimized for rapid movement and specialized covert operations.

Background

Created by the supreme deity Odin as one of the divine battle maidens of Norse mythology, Ortlinde's original purpose was to guide the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla. Upon being summoned by Chaldea, she forms a contract alongside her sisters Thrud and Hildr as part of the composite Servant Valkyrie. Throughout the journey to restore Proper Human History and during various events, she accompanies the Master, steadily transcending her programmed purpose to forge personal bonds and internal emotional depth.

Relationships

Ortlinde shares an inseparable bond with her sister Valkyries, Thrud and Hildr, who together manifest as the Lancer Servant. She holds profound reverence for her eldest sister, Brynhildr. Her family network also extends to the additional Valkyrie sisters, including Lindr, Ölrún, and Geirskögul. Toward the Master of Chaldea, she maintains unfailing loyalty and develops a deep sense of trust through their shared experiences.

Trivia

Ortlinde was designed by artist Takashi Takeuchi. Within Fate/Grand Order, she serves as the representative Valkyrie for the Servant's first Ascension stage, with her sisters taking over in subsequent stages. She has also been featured in multiple official event illustrations and promotional materials.
