Overview
Goredolf Musik is the head of the aristocratic Musik alchemy family and the second director of the Chaldea Security Organization in Fate/Grand Order Part 2. He used his personal fortune to purchase Chaldea in its entirety to prevent the Clock Tower from dismantling the institution into separate divisions. Although initially targeted during the assault orchestrated by his associate Koyanskaya, he was rescued by Fujimaru Ritsuka and joined the surviving personnel aboard the Shadow Border. Despite his outwardly pompous and timid demeanor, he serves as a pragmatic and deeply compassionate commander who guides the remaining staff through the Lostbelts.
Appearance
Goredolf is a 28-year-old man with a plump physical build and a prominent blonde mustache, giving him an appearance that often causes others to perceive him as older than his actual age. He features short blonde hair and presents himself in refined formal attire, including tailored suits, jackets, and white gloves. Although his clothing choices are intended to convey aristocratic dignity, his stout physique and highly expressive facial features grant him a distinctively memorable visual profile.
Personality
Goredolf projects a pompous and self-important facade to mask his internal cowardice and lack of recognition from others. Fully aware of his own limitations, he uses his authoritarian attitude to maintain his position as a leader. Unlike typical mages who view human life with cold detachment, he possesses a strong moral compass and genuinely values the well-being of his subordinates. He strictly opposes needlessly dangerous plans, thoroughly reads mission reports, and shows great empathy toward homunculi and staff members alike. When crisis strikes, he demonstrates surprising resolve and selflessness to protect those under his command.
Abilities
Although his magic aptitude is ranked as average by the Clock Tower, Goredolf possesses top-tier Magic Circuits in both quality and quantity. In combat, he utilizes protective talismans, magic firearms, and a specialized martial alchemy known as the Goff Punch to alter his arm composition into metal, allowing him to hold off multiple Servant-level Ogre Soldiers. His alchemy skills extend to culinary arts, enabling him to detoxify hazardous meat into high-grade steaks, as well as formulating spiritual medicines. An accomplished amateur racer known as Phoenix Musik, he possesses exceptional driving skills capable of piloting the Shadow Border through perilous battlefields alone.
Background
Goredolf was born as the heir of the prestigious Musik alchemy family and affiliated with the Policies Department of the Clock Tower. Raised under his father Gordes Musik, he grew up surrounded by homunculi who took care of him. Following the death of Director Olga Marie Animusphere, he spent his entire inheritance purchasing Chaldea to prevent rival factions at the Clock Tower from carving up the organization. Upon his arrival at Chaldea, he was betrayed by his associate Koyanskaya during a sudden enemy raid. Saved from the brink of death by Fujimaru Ritsuka, he boarded the Shadow Border alongside the surviving crew to command Chaldea's operations across the Lostbelts.
Relationships
Goredolf respects his family heritage under his father, Gordes Musik. While he initially looked down on Fujimaru Ritsuka, he eventually developed high respect and paternal affection for the Master, constantly looking after their mental well-being. He similarly cares for Mash Kyrielight. He acts as a crucial reality check for Leonardo da Vinci and Sherlock Holmes, keeping their extreme strategies in check despite being easily outmaneuvered by them socially. Although deeply betrayed and poisoned by Koyanskaya, he maintains a pragmatic posture toward her. Additionally, the creature Fou has taken a liking to him due to Goredolf's willingness to share good food.
Trivia
His hobby of solo camping features a lavish set of enchanted camping gear equipped with climate control, pest control, and beast repellents. During the third Lostbelt, he unintentionally saved Ritsuka by eating half of a poisoned cake, later attempting to deliberately lose a rock-paper-scissors game so Ritsuka could take the only available antidote. Instead of using truth serums or magical coercion on Kadoc Zemlupus, he proposed winning him over with delicious food. He also risked his life to negotiate directly with Caenis in Atlantis. Furthermore, he possesses surprisingly high Rayshift compatibility, leading to frequent involvement in minor singularities.
