Overview
Captain Nemo is a Rider-class Servant featured in Fate/Grand Order. Initially introduced under the title of Captain in the story chapter Lostbelt No. 3, he is a composite heroic entity created by combining the literary commander Captain Nemo from Jules Verne's novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea with the Greek sea deity Triton. Summoned by Sion Eltnam Sokaris at the Wandering Sea, he serves as the navigator, guide, and vessel captain for Novum Chaldea.
Appearance
Captain Nemo has a compact, youthful physique standing 150 centimeters tall and weighing 40 kilograms. He features long blue hair with gradient coloring styled into twintails, along with green eyes. On his head, he wears a turban adorned with feathers, while his attire consists of a modern naval uniform made up of a long-sleeved jacket, shorts, and pantyhose.
Personality
Driven by an artisan's pride and a high sense of responsibility, Captain Nemo maintains a blunt and reserved demeanor as a professional commander who suppresses his personal feelings to safeguard his crew and vessel. Despite his stern nature, he readily acknowledges and apologizes for any errors in judgment. When at sea or in combat, his underlying energetic and lighthearted personality as a seaman breaks through. He holds a deep attachment to the ocean, frequently employing marine-themed metaphors, and harbors a hidden fondess for sweets like parfaits.
Abilities
As a Rider-class Servant, Captain Nemo employs the Atlas Institute's thought-partitioning technique to produce multiple specialized clones known as the Nemo Series, allowing him to manage an entire vessel by himself. In battle, he combines handgun marksmanship with a shell-like staff that fires sonic waves and high-pressure water currents, alongside authority-driven waves and whirlpools. His skills include Protection of the Sea God for manipulating water to boost defense, Voyager of the Storm, and Indomitable. His Noble Phantasm, Great Ram Nautilus, performs a devastating ramming strike using the armored bow of the submarine Nautilus.
Background
Seeking guard power and labor while stationed at the Wandering Sea, Sion Eltnam Sokaris modified Chaldea's summoning system to synthesize a Servant without a catalyst by fusing the Phantom of Jules Verne's submarine captain with the Divine Spirit Triton. First introduced under the alias Captain, he revealed his true identity while commanding Chaldea's mobile transports, guiding the protagonists through dangerous Lostbelts and maritime operations aboard the Shadow Border and the Nautilus.
Relationships
He maintains a close technical partnership with Sion Eltnam Sokaris, his original summoner who assists with vessel maintenance and base operations. He places immense trust in Ritsuka Fujimaru after receiving his Master contract. Upon first meeting Gordolf Musik, Nemo mistook him for a low-ranking employee due to his lack of a commanding presence and initially assigned him a storage closet, though he later fulfilled Gordolf's requests for proper quarters. He also commands the various clones of the Nemo Series as his crew.
Trivia
The name Nemo translates to 'nobody' in Latin. In Jules Verne's original 1870 novel, the Nautilus was depicted as an electric submarine powered by mercury batteries, a concept considered far beyond the achievable naval technology of that era. Due to Triton being an androgynous entity in the setting, Nemo's initial gender classification was listed as unknown, though it officially became male after he firmly resolved to identify as Captain Nemo.
