Overview
Jester Karture is a Master participating in the False Holy Grail War in Snowfield, featured in the series Fate/strange Fake. Ostensibly a magus who summons False Assassin, he is actually a powerful Dead Apostle vampire known by the alias Six Hearted Revolver. After his initial magus body is slain by his own Servant upon her summoning, he develops a deeply twisted obsession with her. Originally a female named Dorothea, he operates by rotating multiple distinct bodies and souls.
Appearance
He possesses six red patterns called Conceptual Cores on his chest. By rotating them, he can alternate between different forms: a middle-aged man who acted as a magus, an adult man used for combat, a young boy who passes as a human child and lacks vampire weaknesses like sunlight, and a two-meter-tall red-haired werewolf. His true original form is said to be a beautiful young woman. Visual traits include short grey hair falling between his eyes, red eyes, and fangs.
Personality
Jester is highly energetic, talkative, and theatrical, masking a deeply sadistic and twisted nature. Originally seeking to bring about destruction out of sheer boredom, his goals shifted drastically after witnessing the pure, unyielding faith of False Assassin during his own death. This birthed an intense obsession to thoroughly corrupt, break, and defile her. He is deceitful and calculating, often posing as an innocent youth to manipulate situations. While he treats Tsubaki Kuruoka with genuine friendliness, he remains entirely unconcerned with dragging uninvolved bystanders into harm's way.
Abilities
By rotating the Conceptual Cores on his chest, he can cycle through six bodies with distinct physical forms, abilities, and souls while retaining shared memories. If a body dies, its core turns black and becomes permanently unusable. As a Dead Apostle, he consumes victims leaving only bones, and his nature allows him to negate human magecraft and the protection of Noble Phantasms. He possesses vast magical energy and specialized vampire spatial sensing. His unique ability involves fusion, allowing him to rapidly reattach severed fingers, combine blood droplets into fire-merging tornadoes, and forge spears from gathered blades.
Background
Originally a magus who transitioned into a Dead Apostle, Jester was sired by Van Fem, one of the Twenty-Seven Ancestors. He conducted a summoning ritual in a suburban villa in Snowfield to summon False Assassin. Immediately after claiming mastery, his heart was pierced by her Noble Phantasm. Surviving through his vampiric nature, he abandoned his magus body. Entranced by the glimpse of her fanatical past experienced during his death, he began participating in the Grail War behind the scenes to pursue his obsessive goal.
Relationships
He harbors a distorted obsession with his Servant, False Assassin, desiring nothing more than to defile her faith. He shares a mutually hostile, atrocious dynamic with the Church Executioner Hansa Cervantes. Towards Tsubaki Kuruoka, he acts as a genuine friend, though his meddling inadvertently worsens her plight. He maintains a chaotic, friendly acquaintance with Francesca. Although he treats his sire, the Ancestor Van Fem, with strict formal respect, he is ultimately disowned for his contradictory behavior. Additionally, he views False Rider as an inherently incompatible arch-nemesis.
Trivia
His true name, Dorothea, is identical to that of Dorothea Coyett from Fate/Samurai Remnant. However, this is purely a coincidence, and author Ryohgo Narita explicitly denied any connection between the two characters. In-universe, it is noted that he was once mocked in his youth for sharing a name with the Coyett family despite having no relation.
