Miyu Edelfelt

Overview

Miyu Edelfelt is one of the primary Magical Girls featured in Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA. She suddenly appears before Illyasviel von Einzbern during the retrieval of Class Cards and transfers into her elementary school class. Taken in by Luviagelita Edelfelt as an adopted sister, she contracts with the Kaleidostick Magical Sapphire to assist in completing the Card collection missions.

Appearance

Miyu has black hair typically styled in twintails and brown eyes. Her magical girl form incorporates a butterfly motif and tends to show more skin compared to Illyasviel's outfit. She is often seen wearing the Homurabara Academy Elementary School uniform, as well as a maid outfit while working at Luviagelita Edelfelt's mansion. In Fate/Grand Order, her Third Ascension adopts a miko-style garment. When performing Dream Summons, her Saber and Archer forms feature abdominal-exposing armor, while her Rider form grants her a black dress.

Personality

Miyu is stoic, quiet, and deeply rational, often coming across as emotionally distant. Due to her lack of social experience, she lacks basic common sense and struggles with ordinary events like birthdays or school sports days. Though initially cold toward the Card retrieval mission, interacting with Illyasviel von Einzbern opens her heart, leading her to form an intensely strong and dedicated bond of friendship. She possesses a firm sense of purpose and an unyielding will once her mind is set.

Abilities

Miyu is a prodigy across academics, athletics, cooking, and the arts. In battle, she exhibits keen tactical sense, though she lacks imaginative flexibility; unable to visualize true flight, she moves through the air by creating solidified magical platforms to leap across. She frequently relies on including the Lancer Class Card to wield Gae Bolg. Through Dream Summoning, she assimilates Class Cards to gain the powers, equipment, and Noble Phantasms of Heroic Spirits such as Saber, Rider, and Archer. In Fate/Grand Order, she functions as a Caster-class Servant focused on party support, unleashing her Noble Phantasm, Hoshi ni Negai wo.

Background

Born in a parallel world as the Child of God, Miyu possesses the innate capacity to act as a complete Holy Grail. Raised by Emiya Shirou and Emiya Kiritsugu, she was eventually sent to Illya's world through a wish granted to her adoptive brother Shirou. Upon arriving, she encountered Luviagelita Edelfelt and was chosen by the Kaleidostick Magical Sapphire to become a Magical Girl. Adopted into the Edelfelt family, she lives and works as a maid in Luviagelita's mansion while collecting Class Cards.

Relationships

Illyasviel von Einzbern is her most irreplaceable friend, having forged a tight bond after initial friction. She initially clashed with Chloe von Einzbern over Illya, but eventually came to treat her as an important companion. She respects Luviagelita Edelfelt as a guardian and foster sister, working alongside Tohsaka Rin in the mansion. She maintains a quiet and mutually trusting partnership with Magical Sapphire, and holds immense devotion toward her parallel-world brother, Emiya Shirou.

Trivia

Through her diligent work as a maid at Luviagelita Edelfelt's estate, Miyu has accumulated a remarkably large personal income. When appearing as a guest character in Mahjong Soul, she approaches mahjong with a calculated strategy focused strictly on probabilities.
