Overview

A Heroic Spirit appearing in the Fate series, Galahad is a Shielder-class Servant recognized as the saintly Knight of the Round Table who achieved the Holy Grail quest. Possessing a heroic stature comparable to King Solomon, he serves as the true identity behind the powers of Mash Kyrielight, having fused with her during Chaldea's early summoning experiments to grant her his combat capabilities and extend her life as a Demi-Servant.

Appearance

Galahad appears as a youthful knight with silver hair and golden eyes, standing at a height similar to the male protagonist. His hairstyle features bangs covering his left eye, in contrast to Mash Kyrielight's right side. He wears dark purple knight armor whose design evokes the appearance of Lancelot in his Saber and Berserker forms. Mash's habit of concealing one eye with her hair stems directly from Galahad's visual influence.

Personality

Galahad is depicted as aloof, soft-spoken, and coolly analytical, possessing a detached, almost mechanical purity akin to an angel. Utterly lacking personal desire, he acts with absolute impartiality, though his peers note a surprisingly naive side to him. He harbors a strict sense of noble ethics, showing deep indignation toward inhumane experimentation while demonstrating selflessness by shielding a young life. However, his unyielding standards can lead to a cynical detachment from human weakness and the mortal world.

Abilities

As a Shielder, Galahad excels in an integrated offensive and defensive combat style utilizing a large round shield, specializing in reflecting attacks, counter-maneuvers, and shield throwing. His combat potential is said to surpass even his father, Lancelot. Possessing a spiritual rank comparable to Solomon, he cannot be summoned in ordinary Holy Grail Wars. His Noble Phantasms include the Anti-Evil barrier Lord Camelot and High Lord Camelot, which merges him with Camelot's ramparts to fire multiple energetic barrages.

Background

Born to Lancelot and Elaine under deceptive circumstances, Galahad was left without a conventional upbringing by his father. Upon joining the Knights of the Round Table, he sat in the dangerous 13th seat and withstood its curse. After successfully securing the Holy Grail, his complete lack of earthly desires led him to ascend directly to heaven. Centuries later, he was summoned in Chaldea's experiments and bound to Mash Kyrielight, choosing to remain dormant to preserve her life until entrusting her with his power during Chaldea's destruction.

Relationships

Galahad maintains a noticeably cold demeanor toward his biological father, Lancelot, a complex dynamic that leaks into Mash Kyrielight's behavior as well. He acted as Mash's benefactor, saving her life and granting her his Shielder powers. He formed a strong respect for Fujimaru Ritsuka after witnessing the Master's refusal to abandon Mash during Chaldea's collapse. Among the Knights of the Round Table, he shared chess games with Gawain and earned the reluctant respect of Mordred, Bedivere, and Agravain for his unyielding impartiality.

Trivia

The shield wielded by Mash and Galahad is the actual Round Table itself, serving as the fundamental catalyst for Chaldea's Servant summoning system. The combat movement where Galahad hurls his shield was inspired by the classic action game Rygar (known as Argus no Senshi in Japan), as revealed by the creator. Additionally, early materials within the franchise occasionally spelled his name using alternative Japanese transliterations before standardizing to Galahad.
