Overview

Ushi Gozen is a Servant appearing in Fate/Grand Order and Fate/Samurai Remnant. Born as an avatar of the divine deity Gozu Tennou, she represents the monstrous and destructive side sealed within Minamoto no Raikou. Originally debuting as a Berserker NPC in Fate/Grand Order, she later appeared as a Rider in Fate/Samurai Remnant before becoming a playable Avenger. Although sharing her fundamental identity with Raikou, Ushi Gozen manifests as an uninhibited calamity that embraces ruin and chaos.

Appearance

In her unarmored state, she has the physique of an immature young girl with short hair and deep dark circles beneath her hollow eyes. When fully armored, she wears a suit of massive black samurai armor over a futuristic bodysuit, disguising her form as a male warrior, and mounts an eight-legged spider apparatus on her back. Her second ascension adds a black mask and two horn-like head decorations, while her third ascension shifts her appearance to dark skin, silver hair, and giant mechanical arms.

Personality

Lacking the human restraint and mature demeanor of Minamoto no Raikou, Ushi Gozen is driven by violent and decadent impulses. Viewing the world as an inescapable hell, she sees complete destruction as her sole goal. Her broken psyche renders even Command Spells ineffective against her, though her cruelty occasionally leads her to underestimate opponents. Beneath her dangerous exterior lies a clingy, lonely core; when rejected by her Master, she bursts into frantic tears like a toddler. Surprisingly, she retains a subtle fondness for small children.

Abilities

In combat, she employs an eight-legged back apparatus to execute wave attacks and lightning strikes. As an Avenger, she wields twin black swords, Doujigiri Yasutsuna, shrouded in dark flames and lightning, discharging fire projectiles and energy waves. Her third form utilizes a lightning-charged vajra, spinning disc weapons, and crushing blows from colossal arms. Her Noble Phantasm, Goou Hanten - Jinrai Fuuretsu, summons the massive beast Goou Daishinshi to crush areas with thunderous force and gales, while Goou Hanten - Akugyakumudou performs a lightning-clad high-speed assault.

Background

Born as a demonic offspring of Gozu Tennou, she was feared for her monstrous identity and sent to a temple by her father, Minamoto no Mitsunaka. He later brought her back to serve as a human-slaying weapon, raising her as a son. When her rampage led her to attempt self-destruction, Sakata Kintoki rendered her unconscious and sealed her within Raikou's subconscious. In Fate/Samurai Remnant, she is summoned as Yui Shousetsu's Servant, concealing her true name while steering events toward total ruin.

Relationships

She forms a two-sided existence with Minamoto no Raikou, who sealed her away in her inner mind. Her father, Minamoto no Mitsunaka, treated her strictly as a tool for destroying monsters. During her ancient frenzy, Sakata Kintoki subdued her and forced her into deep mental confinement. Toward her Master, Yui Shousetsu, she reinterprets the desire to reform the world into absolute annihilation, while exhibiting a heavy attachment to her Master in Fate/Grand Order.

Trivia

The character design was created by Honjou Raita. Her lore draws from historical Japanese texts and local legends, including the Azuma Kagami and Ushi Gozen no Go-honji. In a specific route ending of Fate/Samurai Remnant, she can be seen quietly playing with children in the background of Yui Shousetsu's private academy.
