Overview

Francesca Prelati is one of the primary masterminds behind the fake Holy Grail War in Snowfield, featured in Fate/strange Fake. Operating alongside co-conspirators such as Orlando Reeve and Faldeus Dioland, she treats the deadly ritual as a grand source of personal entertainment. Though she appears as a young teenage girl, she is actually an ancient magus who continuously prolongs her existence by transferring her mind into new physical forms.

Appearance

Francesca appears as a teenage girl clad in a white gothic lolita dress featuring frills, ribbons, and vertical stripes, paired with white thigh-highs and detached sleeves. Her exceptionally long hair contains subtle skull-shaped patterns. Uniquely, her Command Spell is etched onto her neck rather than her hand, her nails are painted black, and she possesses a giant, gaping mouth on her abdomen used for storage.

Personality

Unpredictable and sadistic, Francesca acts like an unhinged observer who treats life-or-death conflicts like a theatrical show. She delights in taunting others, giving disrespectfully playful nicknames to dangerous individuals, and creating chaos across rival factions. Despite her cruel eccentricities, she refrains from directly harming non-combatant citizens and harbors a distinct distaste for Dead Apostles.

Abilities

Francesca wields a rare form of magecraft that enables her to transcribe her memories and experiences into a new host body upon death, rendering her functionally immortal. Her abdominal mouth functions as a spatial compartment for carrying items. She is also adept at illusionism and manipulating historical vision records to construct deceptive imagery.

Background

Her true identity is the historical magus François Prelati, who has repeatedly shifted between physical bodies for centuries to the point of blurring their original gender. In the Snowfield Grail War, Francesca achieves an unprecedented feat by using her own existence as a catalyst to summon her past self as True Caster. Having crossed paths with countless legendary figures throughout history, her overarching ambition involves the eventual conquest of a grand labyrinth.

Relationships

She summons her past self, François Prelati, as her True Caster Servant. Francesca maintains an obsessive interest in her past associate Gilles de Rais, as well as Artoria Pendragon. She takes a mentor-like role toward Sigma, a young mercenary she trained in magecraft. Conversely, she holds bitter memories of being thoroughly beaten by Touko Aozaki, and Gilgamesh dismisses her antics with utter disdain.

Trivia

When assembling a video record of the Fourth Holy Grail War, she selectively edited and altered the timeline to suit her tastes, resulting in a heavily skewed compilation. She once tried to psychologically break Richard the Lionheart by showing him this tragic footage, only for him to sincerely thank her for showing him his idol's legendary battles.
