Overview
Biscione is a Lancer-class Servant appearing in Fate/Grand Order. Derived from the legendary serpent-dragon that inhabited the marshes around Milan and was featured on the crest of the Visconti family, she embodies a monster vanquished by a knight of old. Despite her intimidating mythological roots, she is depicted as an incredibly modest and faint-hearted young woman. Upon learning about modern society, she seeks a safe and stable livelihood, taking on the persona of a nervous job applicant eager to be hired by Chaldea.
Appearance
She has short black hair, red eyes, pointed ears, and a dragon tail, with a small crown perched on her head. In her first ascension, she wears glasses, a black suit over a white long-sleeved shirt with a green tie, and a backpack fitted with a charm for job placement and a daruma mascot. Her second ascension features a sleeveless shirt under a green jacket decorated with patches, alongside a sticker-covered round shield and a long spear. In her Ouroboros Shift form, her hair turns white and she dons a dress resembling green serpent scales.
Personality
Despite her reputation as a terrifying dragon, she possesses an exceedingly humble, low-self-esteem, and mild temperament. traumatized by her past defeat at the hands of a knight, she desires nothing more than a quiet, safe existence and peaceful hibernation. Viewing herself as a minor figure rather than a grand monster, she takes on an overly anxious yet serious demeanor as she attempts to prove her worth for employment. Strangely, she has a habit of blushing and fleeing whenever she encounters unclothed men.
Abilities
She possesses class and species skills such as Magic Resistance, Presence Concealment, Independent Action, and Dragon Kind. In combat, she uses her dexterous tail to wield a long spear, delivers shield bashes, releases energy waves from the emblem on her shield, and exhales poisonous breath. Her Noble Phantasm, Visconti Assenza, forms her magical energy into a giant serpent that swiftly strikes and bites the target. During her Ouroboros Shift, she unleashes the power of the cyclic dragon to launch light spears and flame attacks via her Noble Phantasm, Dragon Phantasm.
Background
Her origin stems from legends of a serpent-dragon that plagued the marshes of Milan before being slain by the founder of the Visconti family. Formed as a Spirit Origin aggregating various unnamed dragons around the central figure of Biscione, her existence grants her fluid possibilities. Upon being summoned, she views Chaldea as a company and struggles to pitch her merits to ensure her future survival. During an anomaly battle, she shifts her concept toward that of the infinite dragon Ouroboros to overcome powerful foes.
Relationships
She treats Fujimaru Ritsuka as her direct supervisor and interviewer, working hard to impress them. She initially mistook Melusine for a fellow new hire and was pinned to a wall when trying to pat her head, though they later became friendly. She respects Elizabeth Báthory and Medusa as reliable seniors, while Asclepius shows intense medical interest in her dragon physiology. Conversely, she views bare-chested Servants like Beowulf and the notoriously unclad Roland with extreme confusion and alarm.
Trivia
The snake motif of Biscione remains widely recognized in the modern era as part of the logo for the Italian automobile manufacturer Alfa Romeo. The small dragon that accompanies her is referred to as Chibine and shares physical senses with her.
