Sitonai
Sitonai is an Alter Ego-class High-Servant debuting in Fate/Grand Order. She is a Pseudo-Servant formed by fusing three divine entities from northern mythologies—the Ainu heroine Sitonai, the Finnish witch Louhi, and the Norse goddess Freyja—into the body of the final homunculus produced by the Einzbern family. Because the Ainu heroine's traits manifest most prominently on her exterior, she registered under the true name Sitonai. Behind her youthful and charming appearance lies the residual function of a Lesser Grail, making her a unique entity who assists the Chaldea security organization.
Overview
Appearance
Sitonai has the appearance of a small young girl with long silver hair styled in low-tied sidelocks and bright blue eyes. She wears a hairband, hair ribbons, and fingerless gloves, alongside pantyhose on her legs. Her outfit is a white Ainu-inspired dress trimmed with purple accents and decorated with geometric patterns of triangles and rhombuses. She carries a short hunting knife known as a makiri and utilizes a bow during battle. She is consistently accompanied by her familiar, a massive white bear named Shirou.
Personality
Sitonai displays a sweet, innocent demeanor accompanied by a profound, underlying coldness. While her personality fundamentally mirrors that of her homunculus vessel, her behavior reflects her composite nature: the heroic courage of Sitonai in combat, Freyja's deep empathy and longing for those she cares about, and Louhi's ruthless cruelty toward enemies. The three divine entities within her frequently engage in quiet squabbles, which she finds endlessly noisy. She is fond of snow despite disliking the cold, and she harbors an aversion to cats.
Abilities
Possessing immense magic power as a High-Servant, Sitonai can seamlessly cast divine-era magecraft. In combat, she combines agile hand-to-hand maneuvers, icy blade attacks with her short knife or broadsword, and long-range archery using frozen arrows. Her passive abilities include Magic Resistance, Territory Creation, Item Construction, Goddess's Divine Core, and High-Servant. Her active skills include Snow Fairy, which freezes her surroundings and automatically defends against hostile acts; Emotional Freezing, which hardens her icy mind into armor or weaponry; and Kamuy Yukar, which grants her the powers of high-ranking Ainu divine spirits through sacred chants. Her white bear familiar, Shirou, assists with claw slashes, bites, frost breath, and rolling charges. Her primary Noble Phantasm, Optateshke Okimunpe, unleashes a combined assault of bear rushes, icy arrows, and blade strikes that deals devastating damage, particularly against dragons. She also holds the Anti-Country Noble Phantasm Pohjola Fimbul, capable of locking the sun and moon away in frozen darkness.
Background
Sitonai came into being when three northern heroic and divine spirits merged within the body of the final homunculus created by the Einzbern family. Because her physical vessel had already reached the end of its short natural lifespan prior to her summoning, she is classified outside of living humanity despite being a Pseudo-Servant. Her vessel originally possessed expansive command seals, exceptional magical precision, and the internal function of a Lesser Grail. During the events of the Götterdämmerung Lostbelt, she appeared alongside her loyal guardian Berserker to support the Chaldea expedition in restoring proper human history.
Relationships
Sitonai places absolute trust in Berserker (Heracles), who served as her contract Servant in life and continues to act as her bodyguard. She shares a complex connection with Scáthach-Skadi, who represents the stepmother of Freyja within Norse myth. While she does not explicitly address Irisviel von Einzbern as her vessel's mother, she admires her appearance. She recognizes EMIYA (Assassin) as an alternate version of her vessel's father, and identifies EMIYA (Archer) and EMIYA (Alter) as future manifestations of her adoptive brother, reacting with shock at EMIYA Alter's dark transformation. She enjoys Sen no Muramasa's resemblance to her brother, and maintains curious interactions with fellow Pseudo-Servants such as Parvati, Kama, Ishtar, Ereshkigal, and Jaguar Man.
Trivia
Her true name derives from the Ainu legend of a brave hunter girl from Otaru who refused to become the tenth sacrifice to a giant serpent on Mount Akaiwa, slaying the beast alongside her hunting dog Toke using a makiri blade. The name of her white bear familiar, Shirou, combines the transformed body of her dog Toke with the name of the person most cherished by her vessel. In her secondary Noble Phantasm, Pohjola refers to the northern realm ruled by Louhi in the Kalevala, while Fimbul invokes Fimbulwinter, the apocalyptic winter of Norse mythology. Despite traveling with a wild beast companion, she harbors a surprising dislike of cats.
