Overview
Salome is a 2-star Berserker-class Servant in Fate/Grand Order. Based on the Biblical princess and the figure depicted in Oscar Wilde's tragedy, she is historically known for demanding the head of John the Baptist. Within the game, she manifests as a figure defined by a deeply obsessing and twisted affection, combining extreme purity with lethal madness.
Appearance
She is a young woman with long green hair styled in braids, purple eyes, and a mole located on her breast. Her attire consists of a revealing dancer's outfit with detached sleeves, a veil, and various pieces of jewelry. In combat, she manipulates a silver platter alongside a crystal skull wrapped in blue flames, which transforms into a golden material at higher ascensions.
Personality
Underneath a young and gentle demeanor lies a deeply unhinged personality consumed by obsession. She expresses her love through a morbid urge to possess the heads of those she becomes fond of, freely directing this tragic sentiment even toward opponents. While she naturally develops an urge to claim her Master's head as their bond deepens, she exerts immense self-control to suppress this impulse, aware that her Master's death would end her own existence.
Abilities
Salome commands elevated physical attributes backed by her Berserker classing and Mad Enhancement. Her skill Blessed Silver Platter increases her offense, particularly granting lethal output against targets of Lawful Good alignment or holy attributes. Through the Dance of the Seven Veils, she sheds one defensive status effect per turn until, after surviving seven turns, she fully restores the NP reserves of all allies. Her Noble Phantasm, Femme Fatale Baiser, utilizes a magic-infused crystal skull representing Jokanaan's head, enlarging it on command to devour her target while inflicting curses.
Background
In life, Salome was the stepdaughter of Herod Antipas, a ruler in ancient Israel. Falling passionately in love with John the Baptist (Jokanaan), her unrequited desire led her to exploit her stepfather's lust by performing a dance and demanding John's decapitated head on a platter as her reward. After briefly obtaining the head, she was subsequently executed. Subsequent artistic depictions solidified her legend into that of a tragic, lethal lover, locking her Servant incarnation into that exact moment of fixation.
Relationships
She remains intensely obsessed with Jokanaan, the prophet whose head she claimed in life. Having been viewed with inappropriate lust by her stepfather, Herod Antipas, she harbors deep disgust toward him and shows clear dislike for any Servant holding the title of King or Lord. Toward her Master, Fujimaru Ritsuka, she actively resists her urge to claim their head, recognizing them as an individual distinct from Jokanaan. She also maintains a supportive friendship with Scheherazade based on their shared trauma regarding kings.
Trivia
The name Salome originates from the Hebrew word meaning peace, contrasting sharply with her grim artistic legacy. Despite her popular image being heavily altered by later artistic works and plays, she lacks the Innocence Arcanum (Monster of Innocence) skill.
