Xochitonal

Kingprotea Xochitonal, also widely known as Kingprotea Alter, is an Alter Ego-class Servant appearing in the mobile game Fate/Grand Order. Originally the giant High-Ego Kingprotea, she was forcibly corrupted by the underworld king Camazotz using Command Spells during the story chapter Lostbelt No. 7: Nahui Mictlan. Merged with the essence of the underworld iguana Xochitonal, she assumed the role of the guardian of Tlatlauhqui, the first underworld layer. She later returns in Ordeal Call III: Archetype Inception as an independent entity deployed by BB. Unlike her gentle original persona, this Alter form embraces her immense scale as a point of pride, exhibiting an active, rebellious, and confrontational demeanor.

Overview

Appearance

Kingprotea Xochitonal wears a striking full-body black bondage bodysuit paired with a mask styled after Central American iconography. Her extremely long purple hair is adorned with ribbons, including a green ribbon, and she wears black gloves on her hands. Her eyes display heterochromia, featuring one purple eye and one yellow eye. Her visual design in-game is depicted through two distinct Spiritron Dress forms: Tlatlauhqui's Guard, which includes a veil over her mask, and Dark Protea, which omits the veil. Her in-game battle introduction is accompanied by a unique splash image and cutscene movie.

Personality

Her personality is an inversion of Kingprotea's original introverted nature, becoming active, assertive, and belligerent. Her former complex about her giant body has flipped into a source of immense pride, leading her to boast about her size as an absolute advantage. Her desire for affection has transformed into a rebellious phase; rather than pleading for love passively, she acts tough, mean, and hostile specifically to draw attention. She anchors her emotional security in her own power and invincibility, refusing to show vulnerability or weakness in front of her Master and maintaining a stubborn facade even when defeated. In combat, she cleverly uses spiteful psychological pressure to create openings before striking critical points.

Abilities

In combat, she possesses high offensive capability and employs several unique skills. Calavera Mask grants her increased defense while inflicting stun on herself, while Red Inflow provides her with continuous HP recovery while draining enemy HP every turn. She also uses Huge Scale along with Giant Beast Stirring, which forcibly shuffles the opponent's party members, and Reincarnation of the Goddess, a skill that resets her condition back to the start of battle after several turns elapse. Her Noble Phantasm is Airavata King Size: Huge Shadow, Emerging from the Ocean of Life, a Rank E Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm shared with her base form. She unleashes powerful area-of-effect charge attacks combined with self-applied attack boosts at regular three-turn intervals.

Background

Originally a Servant summoned to Chaldea, Kingprotea underwent a violent transformation during the events of Lostbelt No. 7: Nahui Mictlan. The underworld king Camazotz used Command Spells to forcibly alter her Saint Graph, fusing her with the essence of Xochitonal, the giant iguana protecting the first underworld layer, Tlatlauhqui. Reborn as a corrupted guardian, she stood as a formidable threat against Chaldea's expedition. Later, during Ordeal Call III: Archetype Inception, she was deployed within the digital environment by BB as a completely separate entity from the standard Kingprotea. She intervened directly to stop the rampage of her original counterpart and continued to play a prominent role through the climax of the conflict.

Relationships

Camazotz The underworld king who used Command Spells to forcibly corrupt Kingprotea and merge her with the essence of Xochitonal during the Seventh Lostbelt.

BB The administrator of the digital realm in Ordeal Call III, who intentionally substituted Meltryllis with Kingprotea Alter due to her own personal whims.

Passionlip A fellow member of the Sakura Five who finds her full title tedious to pronounce and routinely refers to her by the shortened moniker Puta.

Meltryllis The Sakura Five member who was sidelined by BB for being too defiant and conspicuous, leading to Kingprotea Alter taking her position in the virtual battleground.

Master (Fujimaru Ritsuka) The protagonist treats Kingprotea Alter as a distinct Alter Ego separate from her original self, explicitly acknowledging and respecting both forms individually.

Trivia

The name Xochitonal originates from Aztec mythology, where it refers to a colossal iguana guarding the initial layer of the underworld, Mictlan. Designed by illustrator Wada Arco, her visual aesthetic was officially released as alternative Spiritron Dresses for Kingprotea in Fate/Grand Order.
