Overview
Gaius Julius Caesar appears as a Saber-class Servant in Fate/Grand Order and related works. Based on the historical general and dictator of ancient Rome, he is summoned as a three-star Servant. In the main story chapter Eternal Madness Empire Septem, he initially faces the protagonist as one of the opposing emperors, using his strategic intellect and eloquence to navigate complex situations across various storylines.
Appearance
He has short brown hair with a braid, green eyes, and wears a laurel crown. His attire features a pink necktie, epaulettes, a skirt-like garment, rings, and decorative jewelry. Contrary to historical depictions of a slender build, he is depicted with a noticeably plump, heavy physique. Through Saint Graph Ascension, he equips marble arm and leg guards that can be moved through his own will.
Personality
He is an ambitious schemer blessed with exceptional speech and intellect, capable of identifying others' desires to manipulate them skillfully. Despite his deceitful reputation in minor incidents, he remains loyal to his Master and offers genuine counsel. He loves women, Rome, and the world at large, though he regularly expresses dissatisfaction at being summoned as a front-line Saber rather than a commander. He has a habit of repeating similar words three times in succession, and his wish upon the Holy Grail is to reunite with Cleopatra and acknowledge their son, Caesarion.
Abilities
Despite his heavy appearance, he possesses high agility and formidable physical power. His skill set includes Military Tactics for fleet or army maneuvers, Charisma to lead forces, and Incitement to manipulate crowds and individuals. His Noble Phantasm is Crocea Mors, a golden sword that delivers a guaranteed initial hit followed by consecutive extra strikes determined by successful luck checks. In combat, he uses high-speed swordplay, marble armor strikes, and summons Roman troops to assault enemies with spears.
Background
Renowned for his conquests in the Gallic Wars and expeditions to Britannia, he was a master politician and commander who set the groundwork for the Roman Empire before being deified after death. As a Servant, he participates in the battles of Septem and later assists Chaldea in various singularities. Upon reuniting with his beloved Cleopatra during a holiday event, she fainted at his gain in weight, subsequently subjecting him to strict training and diet regimens.
Relationships
He holds deep affection for his wife Cleopatra and cares immensely for their son Caesarion. He respects Romulus as the founder of Rome and acts familiarly toward Roman emperors such as Nero Claudius, Caligula, and Constantine XI. Historically, he was betrayed by his subordinate Marcus Junius Brutus. Under contract with the protagonist Ritsuka Fujimaru, he offers strategic support, while maintaining friendly interactions with Alexander the Great by inviting him to games.
Trivia
His heavy in-game physique is attributed by himself to an improper summoning or stress-induced weight gain. He is illustrated by Shimadoriru and voiced by Ryoutarou Okiayu, sharing the same artist and voice actor combination with the Saber version of Lancelot.
