Overview

Geirskogul is an Assassin-class Servant introduced in Fate/Grand Order during the 2022 summer event, Arctic Summer World!. She is one of the divine Valkyries created by the Great God Odin, manufactured during the same production cycle as Ortlinde. Nicknamed Irusu, she is categorized alongside Rindr and Olrun as part of the New Three Sisters who joined the active roster of Valkyries alongside the original trio of Thrud, Hild, and Ortlinde. Operating as a high-mobility tactical fighter, she utilizes modern firearms adapted for stealth and rapid-assault operations.

Appearance

Geirskogul has long, light-brown hair accompanied by brown wings affixed to the sides of her head. She wears a black beret and an open black jacket with long sleeves that leaves her neck and collarbone visible. Beneath the jacket, she wears a black one-piece swimsuit paired with black gloves.

Personality

Using the personal pronoun boku, Geirskogul presents a cool, sharp, and somewhat reserved demeanor with an androgynous charm. She is serious and slightly formal in tone, often preferring to spend time on her own. Despite her stoic and independent nature, she is not aloof and easily understands lighthearted humor. In the presence of her Master, her intense devotion occasionally causes minor glitches in her composure. She holds an interest in strict discipline and order, while expressing deep contempt for manipulative individuals who sow discord.

Abilities

Reassigned to the Assassin class, Geirskogul possesses Presence Concealment alongside a high level of Divinity. In combat, she wields fictional firearms modeled after the FN PS90, executing aerial gunmanship, sidearm shooting, and deploying ground-set Sowilo missiles. She can also project laser blades from her gun muzzle for close-range slashes and thrusts. Her arsenal includes the Noble Phantasm SMG/SAM66 (Fake Divine Word), which infuses modern firearms with rune magic, and Svanhvit (Swan Dress - Assault Type), which enhances her high-speed mobility. Through Valkyrie-Style Group Combat, she receives tactical support from two additional Valkyries during engagements. Her Noble Phantasm, Fylgja Valkyrie, synchronizes eight Valkyrie units into a halo of light that channels a massive divine beam of energy from the sky.

Background

Geirskogul was originally one of the many Valkyrie units appearing strictly during the execution of the Lancer Valkyrie's Noble Phantasm. Manufactured in the same era as Ortlinde, she gained an individual presence during the events surrounding the North Pole summer singularity. Although she would normally have vanished upon the singularity's resolution, Lady Avalon utilized the unique attributes of the Valkyrie Spirit Origin to tether Geirskogul's data through alternate Spiritron Dresses and Noble Phantasm configurations. This intervention allowed her to be pseudo-summoned and permanently registered as an Assassin Servant within Chaldea.

Relationships

Geirskogul shares a close sisterly bond with Ortlinde, having been manufactured during the same period, as well as with the rest of the Valkyries. She deeply venerates her eldest sister, Brynhildr, which fuels an intense resentment toward Brynhildr's husband, Sigurd. While she and her sisters routinely treat Sigurd as a target for sniper fire, Geirskogul refrains from delivering a fatal blow out of respect for Brynhildr's love. She treats Altera with familiar respect as an elder figure under the name Atli, and harbors fond affection for Scathach-Skadi as a motherly deity. Toward her Master, Fujimaru Ritsuka, she exhibits deep devotion, takes an interest in Minamoto no Raikou's enforcement of discipline, and views Ashiya Douman with profound disgust, likening his malice to Loki.

Trivia

Her name is derived from the Valkyrie mentioned in the Poetic Edda (such as Voluspa), translating literally to Spear-battle. She is commonly referred to by the nickname Irusu. Although grouped alongside Rindr and Olrun as the New Three Sisters, Geirskogul harbors a slight dissatisfaction with being categorized in contrast to the Old Three Sisters, as all Valkyries function with equal capabilities.
