Overview

The AMX-103 Hamma Hamma is a prototype mobile suit developed by Neo Zeon, featured in the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. Designed as a testbed for quasi-psycommu technology intended for ordinary pilots, its primary operator in the story is Mashymre Cello of the Endra team.

Appearance

The suit possesses an unorthodox silhouette characterized by flexible, pipe-like extendable arms lacking standard elbow and wrist joints. Large clusters of vernier thrusters are stationed around the shoulders and waist. Instead of conventional manipulators, the hands feature a three-clawed design arranged around central beam emitters. It is equipped with a thick, heavy shield composed of Gandarium alloy.

Abilities

Equipped with a wired psycommu system, its extendable arms enable all-range attacks up to a 100-meter radius using double 3-barrel beam cannons. The fingertips sport holding claws for stored beam sabers. Its specialized shield houses an independent generator, three mega particle cannons, and eight space mines, though the main unit suffers from poor generator efficiency.

Background

Built following the success of the AMX-004 Qubeley, it was created to develop mass-production psycommu units for non-Newtype troops. Assigned to Mashymre Cello, it successfully damaged the head of the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam alongside the R-Jarja. However, technical flaws and pilot changes halted its mass-production plans, passing its concept down to the AMX-014 Doven Wolf.

Relationships

Piloted primarily by Mashymre Cello, the unit frequently engaged Judau Ashta's MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam. During combat operations, it executed coordinated maneuvers alongside Chara Soon's R-Jarja.

Trivia

The name of the unit is rumored to be derived from Haman Karn. Its battle damage to the Zeta Gundam's head directly set up the narrative premise for the subsequent appearance of the Zeta Zaku.
