Overview

Isemi Aro is a character appearing in Fate/Prototype and its prequel Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver. Serving as a Master for the Rider class in the Tokyo Holy Grail War, he is a young boy who maintains a pure, altruistic spirit, praying for world peace and the happiness of all mankind despite his tragic destiny.

Appearance

He has the physical appearance of a frail, sickly ten-year-old boy in a near-dead condition. He features silver hair and golden eyes. On the palm of his left hand, he bears his Command Seals.

Personality

Possessing a saint-like nobility, Aro holds no hatred toward the people around him or the cruel fate forced upon him. He harbors a deeply compassionate nature, genuinely wishing for universal peace and human happiness. In selecting a Servant, he did not seek personal salvation, but instead chose a hero who had experienced true happiness, entrusting his own hopes to the bright future that such a hero envisioned.

Abilities

Aro holds the Master rank of Third Rank (Thrones). Due to his immense magical energy reserves, he was utilized by his father primarily as a magical power supply. He bears Command Seals on his left palm, and at the time of his death, he demonstrated the capability to expend all of his Command Seals at once to fully grant physical incarnation to his Servant.

Background

In Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver, Aro was exploited as a magical energy source by his father, Genri Isemi. When their stronghold was raided by Manaka Sajou, she maliciously implanted a fragment of Beast into his body out of cruelty, drastically reducing his remaining life. Later, during the events of Fate/Prototype, he summoned Perseus as his Servant and forged a deep friendship with him. As his condition deteriorated, Aro used all of his Command Seals to grant Perseus physical incarnation immediately before passing away.

Relationships

His father, Genri Isemi, treated him merely as a tool for magical energy. However, Genri's Servant, Ozymandias, saw the reflection of his foster brother Moses in Aro's noble soul and refrained from destroying the Isemi family. Manaka Sajou cruelly targeted him in an experiment that shortened his life. In Fate/Prototype, he formed an irreplaceable bond of friendship with his Servant, Perseus. Following Aro's death, Perseus went rogue, resorting to extreme measures to resurrect Aro and bestow upon him the peaceful life he was denied.

Trivia

Before his official name was revealed in the fifth volume of Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver, he was tentatively referred to by fans as the Isemi boy. The origin of his given name is speculated to derive from Aaron, the brother of Moses, or Andromeda, the wife of Perseus. In the original Old Fate conceptual phase, the character was initially envisioned as female.
