Jamru Fin

The AMA-01X Jamru Fin is a transformable mobile armor developed by Neo Zeon, appearing in titles such as Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. Originally planned as a massive mobile armor succeeding the concept of the Big Zam, project changes forced it to be completed as a high-speed variable unit. Functioning primarily as high-mobility self-propelled artillery, it balances immense acceleration with heavy built-in firepower.

Overview

The AMA-01X Jamru Fin is a transformable mobile armor developed by Neo Zeon, appearing in titles such as Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. Originally planned as a massive mobile armor succeeding the concept of the Big Zam, project changes forced it to be completed as a high-speed variable unit. Functioning primarily as high-mobility self-propelled artillery, it balances immense acceleration with heavy built-in firepower.

Appearance

Because its humanoid form was assembled rapidly using simplified components, the machine lacks a traditional human silhouette, featuring simple manipulators attached directly to its central body. It is capable of shifting between its non-humanoid mobile suit configuration and its streamlined mobile armor mode.

Abilities

The Jamru Fin features a torso-mounted High Mega Cannon, arm-mounted dual-purpose beam cannons/beam sabers, and twin triple-tube small missile launchers. In its mobile armor mode, it delivers exceptional acceleration. It can mount optional equipment such as a Mega Booster for extended range and additional firepower, or a nuclear pulse-propelled Big Booster equipped with an I-field generator for interplanetary travel.

Background

Originally designed to succeed the Big Zam, the project was scaled down as the war effort declined, resulting in a rushed variable machine built around the original torso architecture. Three prototype units were deployed during a joint operation between Neo Zeon and the Republic of Zeon, piloted by the trio known as the Jamru 3D (Danny, Del, and Dune). In U.C. 0115, a modernized unit equipped with a Big Booster was piloted by Captain Kitch Kitchener of the NSP faction in an attempt to capture the Gundam F90.

Relationships

During the joint operation between Neo Zeon and the Republic of Zeon, the primary prototype units were operated by Danny, Del, and Dune, a trio of Zabi faction loyalists collectively called the Jamru 3D. In Universal Century 0115, Captain Kitch Kitchener of the NSP organization piloted an upgraded variant equipped with a Big Booster.

Trivia

Beyond its initial animated appearance, a complete version of the design concept appears in the manga A.O.Z Re-Boot: Gundam Inle as the large-scale mobile armor Big Zamuru (model number AMA-01S), developed by the Reon/Zeon Mars faction.
