Loni Garvey

Overview

Loni Garvey is an 18-year-old pilot for the Zeon remnant forces in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. As the daughter of former Zeon soldier and benefactor Mahdi Garvey, she operates a massive mobile armor in armed conflict against the Earth Federation, driven by deep-seated personal vengeance.

Appearance

Loni is a young dark-skinned woman with curly blue hair and blue eyes. She wears clothing that reveals her collarbone, a green casual jacket, and a Zeon pilot suit.

Personality

Although fundamentally gentle and caring, her natural kindness is clouded by an intense hatred toward the Earth Federation for killing her father. During combat, she experiences profound internal turmoil between her thirst for revenge and her innate empathy.

Abilities

Loni is a skilled pilot capable of controlling the massive mobile armor AMA-X7 Shamblo. As a sensitive Newtype, she can interface directly with the machine's psycommu system and achieve mental resonance with other pilots.

Background

Raised as the daughter of wealthy remnant organizer Mahdi Garvey, Loni swore revenge after her father was slain by Earth Federation forces. She subsequently served under Yonem Kirks, piloting the Shamblo in attacks on Dakar and Torrington Base. Despite an emotional Newtype connection with Banagher Links during the assault, she lost control to the machine's vengeance and was ultimately shot down by Riddhe Marcenas.

Relationships

She was deeply devoted to her father, Mahdi Garvey, whose death fueled her drive for revenge. She viewed her military commander, Yonem Kirks, as a surrogate father figure. On the battlefield, she formed a brief Newtype bond with Banagher Links, who attempted to stop her rampage, before her machine was destroyed by Riddhe Marcenas.

Trivia

Her mobile armor, the Shamblo, is designated as AMA-X7 in certain media listings and AMA-295 in others. Her story serves as a tragic portrayal of the cycle of hatred central to the Universal Century setting.
