Overview
Major Reiter is a character featured in Strange Tales of the Imperial Holy Grail and its manga remake, Fate/type Redline. Serving as the Master of Assassin in the Imperial Capital Holy Grail War, she presents herself as a military officer aligned with the Third Reich. In truth, she is an undercover operative sent by the Clock Tower under direct orders from a Lord to investigate and report on the conflict.
Appearance
In her original appearance in Strange Tales of the Imperial Holy Grail, Major Reiter was designed as a visual counterpart to Rider (Medusa), featuring iconic long hair. In Fate/type Redline, her appearance was revised: her hair is cut into a medium shoulder-length style, and she has a distinct beauty mark located near her mouth.
Personality
Major Reiter is a composed and calculating individual who prioritizes her mission above all else. Pragmatic and secretive, she maintains her cover while executing strategic moves behind the scenes.
Abilities
As a magus associated with the Clock Tower, Major Reiter possesses practical magical skills. In field operations, she has demonstrated mastery in disguise by impersonating Major Makawatsu, provided tools such as Heroic Spirit restraints, and exhibited skill in operating vehicles including a Type 97 motorcycle with a sidecar.
Background
Dispatched to the front under the guise of a Third Reich magus, Major Reiter allied with Major Makawatsu, providing tactical support through assassinations carried out by Assassin. Operating behind the scenes, she masqueraded as Makawatsu to stir up a military coup. Following the downfall of Caster and the artificial god at the hands of a Counter Force guardian, she compiled and submitted reports regarding the outcome of the experiment and the manifestation of the Counter Force to her superior at the Clock Tower.
Relationships
Major Reiter acts as the Master to Assassin (Okada Izo), employing his lethal capabilities for targeted executions. She establishes an alliance with Major Makawatsu, supplying him with Heroic Spirit restraints while secretly manipulating events by disguising herself as him. She takes direct command from a Lord of the Clock Tower.
Trivia
Her surname "Reiter" is the German word for rider, directly referencing the Rider class from which her original visual design was derived.
