Merribit Stapleton

Overview

Merribit Stapleton is a supporting character in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. Sent by the Jupiter-based conglomerate Teiwaz, she serves as a financial advisor and overseer assigned to the mercenary group Tekkadan aboard the Isaribi. She eventually takes on management duties at Tekkadan's Mars headquarters. While deeply troubled by the dangerous, life-risking lifestyle of the young child soldiers, she provides essential administrative support and adult guidance throughout their journey.

Appearance

She is a woman characterized by short blonde hair and blue eyes.

Personality

Merribit is a highly competent, grounded, and compassionate professional. As one of the few adults surrounding Tekkadan, she acts with a protective and maternal sense of responsibility, often worrying about the boys' reckless choices and expressing concern over their dangerous path. Though she laments her inability to stop them from placing their lives on the line, she remains deeply devoted to their well-being. Around the person she loves, she displays a softer, surprisingly maiden-like disposition.

Abilities

Leveraging her background in banking, Merribit excels in financial advisor duties, bookkeeping, and administrative schedule management. Beyond her financial acumen, she possesses medical skills, performing life-saving emergency medical treatment on Takaki Uno when he was wounded. She is also capable of handling ship operations, stepping in as the communication operator aboard the Isaribi following Fumitan Admoss's death.

Background

Hailing from a colony, Merribit worked in Teiwaz's banking division. After meeting Orga Itsuka at a pub on Saisei, she was assigned to the Isaribi as a financial monitor. Although initially distant and doubtful of Orga's inexperienced leadership, she gradually earned the group's trust. Following the battle of Edmonton, she continued to handle accounting and administration at Tekkadan's Mars headquarters. When Tekkadan parted ways with Teiwaz, she resigned from the corporation to remain with Tekkadan. After surviving the final conflict, she married Nadi Yukinojo Kassapa and embraced a peaceful domestic life.

Relationships

She developed a romantic relationship with Nadi Yukinojo Kassapa, eventually marrying him after the war and expecting their second child. Her relationship with Orga Itsuka evolved from initial skepticism into deep mutual trust as she came to understand his heavy burdens. She provided emergency care to save Takaki Uno's life and later gave emotional support to Ride Mass. Additionally, her professional excellence earned high praise from Naze Turbine.

Trivia

Excluding guest figures such as Kudelia Aina Bernstein and Fumitan Admoss, Merribit was the very first adult woman to officially join Tekkadan's inner ranks, often making her a frequent topic of conversation among the younger male members.
