Overview
Rindr is an Assassin-class Servant introduced in Fate/Grand Order during the 2022 summer event Arctic Summer World!. Manufactured as a Valkyrie by the Norse supreme god Odin, she is a sister unit created around the same period as Thrud. Initially appearing only within Noble Phantasm sequences, she became fully materialized as part of the new three sisters alongside her fellow Valkyries, enabling her pseudo-summoning to Chaldea.
Appearance
Rindr features blonde hair tied into a braided bun at the back of her head, accompanied by yellow head wings. Upon changing into her swimsuit Spirit Origin, she wears a black swimsuit outfit complemented by accessories such as a beret, a jacket, and gloves tailored for covert operations.
Personality
Referring to herself as 'this unit' or 'watashi,' Rindr possesses an easygoing, self-paced temperament with a slightly airheaded streak. She has a voracious appetite and exhibits no hesitation in preparing and eating grotesque sea monsters. While acknowledging Thrud as the commander among the Valkyries, Rindr positions herself as the group's intellectual strategist. Her emotional subroutines tend to develop faster than those of her sisters, occasionally displaying a sly, mischievous side.
Abilities
Rindr engages in high-mobility stealth combat using SMG/SAM66, a firearm modeled after the FN PS90 that channels northern rune magic. In battle, she combines aerial gunfire, laser blades emitted from her gun barrel, and ground-placed Sowilo missiles while receiving real-time tactical support from other Valkyries. Her Noble Phantasm, Fylgja Valkyrie, coordinates multiple Valkyrie units to launch concentrated strafing and bayonet charges, forming a circular halo of light that channels a massive orbital beam of magical energy from the sky. She also utilizes the Svanhvit swan apparel modified for strike operations.
Background
Rindr was constructed by Odin as an automaton unit in the Nordic mythos. During the summer crisis, she was summoned alongside Elrun and Geirskogul as one of the new three sisters via the Holy Grail. Although her existence was originally tied to the temporary singularity, the intervention of Lady Avalon allowed her spirit information to be anchored to specialized outfits and Noble Phantasms, enabling her to remain in Chaldea permanently.
Relationships
Rindr works closely with Thrud, viewing her as the commander while acting as her strategist. She adores her eldest sister, Brynhildr, but harbors intense resentment toward Brynhildr's husband, Sigurd, frequently treating him as a target for sniping. Toward her Master, Fujimaru Ritsuka, her emotional functions experience affectionate glitches. She also maintains deep respect and warm affection for her former authority figure, Scáthach-Skadi, and for Altera.
Trivia
While a figure named Rindr exists in historical Norse mythology as the mother of Odin's son Vali, no Valkyrie by that name appears in traditional Eddic texts. Consequently, Rindr as a Valkyrie is an original creation tailored specifically for the Fate franchise.
