Devoted to the team's captain, Sazaki Kaoruko, Mahiru works alongside her teammate Sano Keiko to provide defensive and tactical support during matches. Due to her upbringing in all-female school environments, she possesses a uniquely romanticized perception of young men.
Appearance
Shigure Mahiru is a young female student pictured in the standard school uniform of St. Odessa Girls' Academy. Her most distinct physical feature is her hair tied back into a high ponytail, which serves as her signature personal look and defining charm point.
Personality
Having attended all-girls schools continuously since kindergarten, Mahiru has virtually no practical experience interacting with males. As a consequence, she harbors highly exaggerated expectations and colorful fantasies regarding the opposite sex. She exhibits distinct fujoshi-like traits, such as reinterpreting ordinary bickering between boys as romantic affection or swooning over boys who wear glasses, viewing male relationships through a uniquely distorted and imaginative lens.
Abilities
In Gunpla Battles, Mahiru operates a custom purple-painted Nobel Gundam. Her mobile suit features customized hair units forming a ponytail that mirrors her own hairstyle, and it is armed with the Rising Arrow and Beam Naginata taken from the Rising Gundam. On the battlefield, she collaborates with Sano Keiko to back up Sazaki Kaoruko's R-Gyagya, executing coordinated team tactics such as the Jet Stream Attack. Additionally, she pilots the Impulse Gym Mahiru Custom.
Background
Mahiru spent her entire academic life in single-sex environments, attending all-girls schools starting from kindergarten through her enrollment at St. Odessa Girls' Academy. Upon joining the school's Gunpla Battle team, Hokusou no Tsubo, led by Sazaki Kaoruko, she took on a supporting combat role alongside teammate Sano Keiko, competing in regional tournaments to aid her team's victory.
Relationships
Mahiru deeply admires her team leader, Sazaki Kaoruko, addressing her with high respect and following her commands loyally. She maintains a close working partnership with her fellow team member, Sano Keiko, supporting each other during battle formations. When dealing with male fighters like Kamiki Sekai and Kousaka Yuuma, she views their interactions with enthusiastic romantic speculation.
Trivia
Her personal Gunpla incorporates her own appearance into its design, notably featuring custom head gear on her Nobel Gundam tailored to match her signature ponytail.
