Overview
True Assassin is a Servant summoned by Faldeus Dioland for the True Holy Grail War in Fate/strange Fake. His True Name is Hassan of the Fathomless Rift (Hasan Sabbah). Possessing the extraordinary capacity to merge directly with the world itself, he acts as an elusive, shadow-like entity. He establishes a formal bond with his Master only after testing the man's resolve regarding the weight of taking human lives.
Appearance
Because he is fully integrated into the shadow of the world, he lacks any physical height or weight. His full visual structure remains unknown, as he only ever shows himself as a lone skull mask floating within deep darkness.
Personality
He possesses a rigorous standard regarding the gravity of taking human life and remaining true to one's purpose. When receiving assassination orders from Faldeus Dioland, he strictly inquires whether the Master possesses the unyielding conviction to face the consequences of murder. He refrains from vocal speech during routine interactions, choosing instead to communicate via written notes or visual noise generated on electronic displays. When he does speak, he adopts solemn, archaic phrasing.
Abilities
He holds the EX-ranked skill Presence Concealment alongside Shadow Lantern, which lets him blend into darkness and gather mana without burdening his Master. He can infiltrate heavily protected lines of defense entirely undetected to perform subtle executions mimicking sudden heart attacks or accidents. In battle, he creates weightless, razor-thin shadow blades capable of passing straight through physical shields and vehicle armor. Upon his imminent destruction, his Noble Phantasm, Zabaniya: Meditation Nerve, unleashes a massive shadow to drag his target into the underworld as a self-sacrificial counter strike.
Background
He was not originally an assassin of the order, but rather an ordinary human converted into a living weapon through magic, curses, science, and alchemy by a secular organization. After wandering aimlessly following the downfall of his creators, he reached the sanctuary of the First Hassan. Accepting his fate to become the First's eternal shadow, he received the founder's blade and was etched into the world as a singular existence among the Hassan heads.
Relationships
He serves Faldeus Dioland as his Master, forming an understanding after confirming Faldeus's readiness to bear the burden of murder. He also encounters the Zealot—a woman who failed to inherit the title of Hassan—and directly points out the reason she could not become one, bringing closure to her lingering aspirations.
Trivia
To prevent confusion with the True Assassin of Fate/stay night, fan listings typically append the title of Fate/strange Fake. Upon his initial status reveal in the original print release, parts of his parameters were stylized as obscured by shadow.
